A legit question, and so far it would seem very possible that it is Phillips, don't you think?

Our Terry Pendleton is currently in LF. Veteran rah rah player, that can carry the offense. He's still protecting Freddie while he's on the DL by making up for his offense.

After a big week his numbers have jumped up. I still expect him to end the year with a WRC+ in the 90's.

That is probably likely, but even with that level offense, he's been a solid player the last few years and definitely above replacement level. Now, can he afford to have his offense slide back and not produce the above-average defense he had been? No, so I get your point. But we'll see. So far, so good.

Yeah. Prior to last year he had plus defense but that seems to be failing him now. If he's a ~90 WRC+ hitter at the end of the year he will be a sub 1 WAR player. Not that it's bad for what we gave up or anything.

0.7 bWAR now, so sub-1 is a stretch, no?

Yes, if you think he will continue to hit at his current level. If he falls back to his 90 WRC+ self, which he was at a week ago and has been for the last 4 years, then he will be a sub 1 WAR player. No way around it.

Markakis seems too nimble to be cast as Bream, although he probably deserves the heroics. Maybe Adams.
