10/07/18 GDT NLDS Game 3: Dodgers @ Braves The Final Game of 2018

If we win today I’d have no problem going with a bullpen start Wednesday and use a different pitcher every inning. Keep them completely off balance.

I have to say—however Game Four goes—Acuña watching ball-four called a strike, and then destroying the first real strike he saw for a slam, is a highlight that justifies the whole series.

Yep. Win or lose today, we got an iconic moment out of this series, which is not to be taken lightly, because our most recent iconic postseason moments have been Kimbrel fuming in the bullpen and bottles littering the field after the “infield fly.”

Given our rotation and how it stacks against the Dodgers’ strengths, I think it’s the best deployment of resources. Chase and leverage platoon advantage to the greatest possible extent in a winner-moves-forward game.

Assuming, of course, Foltynewicz can get the team there first.

I didn’t expect them to be very good. That is true. I didn’t give up on them. My expectations were low and I wasn’t correct. You have a select group here who are no less a fan if they don’t think the Braves will win it all or whatever sunshine they want to cast. The angle is that I got and get crap because I haven’t bought into the rebuild plan and don’t agree with all the moves the team has made. Now you have people crying and whining and giving up yet they aren’t called out? I have no problems with people behaving that way, but you can’t just single me out.

you get crap because you whine incessantly and **** on everything because apparently you're just a miserable person.

Anibal would be at regular rest. Might as well use him for one time through the batting order/until his turn in the batting order.

Rewatching that bogus strike call on Acuna. The Braves need to file a formal complaint and I think this is a legal issue that a player or team should take up. That an umpire would change a call because he got his feelings hurt should be an immediate termination for the umpire. I can understand questionable calls. I can understand wrong calls. I cant understand letting an umpire continue if he picks and chooses when he wants to call the game fairly. Umpires doing this should be right up there with Pete Rose betting on baseball. As far as I know theres no evidence Rose's betting impacted a game. There is proof this umpires changed the outcome here. We probably dont win the game if not for that call but its still wrong and he should still be fired. I know its flimsy grounds to sue on but it comes down to the integrity of the game and letting things like this go on borders on fraud in my opinion. Many of us pay to watch these games and we are told its a fair game with static rules. At the very least that umpire needs to lose whatever pay he got for that game and be removed from the playoff crew. They get away with it because we cant technically tell intent of the umpire but there was nothing even borderline about the pitch. Would MLB even do something if the pitch went into the dugout and he called it a strike? Where is the limit? When an umpire calls a 450 home run to center over the batters eye a foul ball?

Did I miss something that happened last night with that bad call to Acuna? It was high and out of the zone for sure.
