10/4/2014 GDT x 2: Let's play two? No-o-o-o-o-o-o! Oh, yes!!!

Looks like we have 3 set starters for next season in Shelby, Julio, and wisler. 2 of Minor, FA, Perez, banuelos, and folty should round out the rotation

Yeah Shelvy, Julio, and Wisler could be a good top 3. Both Julio and Wisler have impressed latley and hopefully that continues. I think Minor should have the advantage over the rest of the in house options assuming the Braves really do keep him and he looks to be 100%. I think that is the Braves plan as I beleive they only want to go after 1 FA starter. Then you would have Banuelos and Folty ready if Minor isn't apart of the equation with the other going to the pen.

Pretty unbelievable the Braves drew over 2,000,000 this year. Considering the general apathy towards the team this was better than I expected. Especially since Philadelphia drew over 200,000 less than the Braves and that place used to always be rocking.

With a few good pieces here and there we could improve drastically next year. I'm curious to see the asking price on Zimmerman.

I really, really hope Olivera gets a look a second in winter ball or Spring Training.

Based on what's been written, the only positions under consideration for Olivera are 3B and LF. He's really not looked good fielding the ball at 3B. To some extent, I buy into the theory that he's rusty. But the results have been bad enough that it's a real concern.

You have to think Adonis has earned himself a 40-man spot, and that was no sure thing a month ago. He too has fielding issues, but his lateral range has been surprisingly good at times.

I've said the same. I prefer Price or Grienke, but a Zimmerman anchored rotation would be very good. Zimmerman, Miller, Teheran, Minor?, Wisler. That's super solid

@KevinMcAlpin: #Braves finished 2015 having won 8 of their last 9 at home, posting an 0.56 ERA (5 ER/81 IP). Atlanta posted 3 straight shutouts over STL

Just didn't want to pony up a few extra dollars on the signing bonus of a top 2 pick.

Both Kelly Johnson and Juan Uribe would have probably exceeded 10 HRs had the stayed with the Braves all season and as a result would have been #2 and #3 behind Freeman, but it is what it is. Curious to see if Adonis is a part of next year's plan in any way.

I didn't mean for that to be a Grumpy Gus comment, rather I was just amazed that he hit so many HR in his relatively short stay, particularly after not showing much power in the minors.

I wouldn't be surprised if he were a part of next year's plan, particularly since Olivera has not been a paragon of durability. His low walk rate means he'd probably have limited utility is a starter, but he had a nice little run this year and I wouldn't be surprised to see him be a useful piece next year, on some level.

The nicest thing about the last week has been seeing Wisler, Shelby, and Julio finish strong. Now that's Reason to Believe.
