10/5 GDT | Anibal "Dirty" Sanchez VS Clayton Kersh*t | Braves @ Dodgers 7:37 on FS1

I dont believe the premise is incorrect. He tends to pitch early strikes so it makes sense to be agresive early. Its just that this is chess. If the opponent adapts then its on us to adapt to their adaptation. So its on Snitsker and the coaching staff for not changing the plan. It was clear on the later innings especially that they were hacking early still. They never adapted to Kershaw and the Dogers game plan

Yeah, even if you don't consider analytics, a lot of teams try to swing early against Kershaw. The thing is, he's the rare pitcher in which unless you're a team of black magic, working 10+ pitch at bats is not going to get him. Swinging early is going to.

The thing is, some of the pitches chosen to hit at weren't bad choices. Kershaw pitched well, he didn't dominate like people said. It was him pitching well combining with outside of Acuna, some pitches to hit being missed and being another team to fail to elevate the sliders that don't have great location from him:

Maybe I'm crazy, but with the way this season has gone, with the streakiness, I wouldn't be shocked of we make this a series.

Snit said they changed their mind because the situation is "dire," and that Newk gives them the best chance since he's "pitched so well against them this year."

yeah...I like Newk more in this situation...if there is a game 4 I think it will be Folty

How does a dude with poor command going against a team that sees the most pitches per PA give you the best chance to win? He’s also an extreme fly ball pitcher going up against a homer happy lineup. I’d think a ground ball pitcher like Gausman would be a better bet. And it’s not like the Dodgers struggle against LHP anymore either.

It reeks of pathetic desperation.

He had his best velocity of the season in his last start. Had even better velo in his relief appearance on the last day of the season. And threw well in game 2. I think his arm has bounced back.

Facing elimination is the definition of pathetically desperate...no?
