10/5 GDT | Anibal "Dirty" Sanchez VS Clayton Kersh*t | Braves @ Dodgers 7:37 on FS1

Newcomb isn't an extreme fly ball guy. Gausman gives up homers when the ball goes in the air.

Would've probably been a good idea to try it in the first game, but Newcomb is better when he's wild, but trying to miss bats, and throwing hard. You tell him to air it out for maybe 5 at the max, if it works out well.

Hopefully they are planning to let Newk go once through the lineup then move on to Gaus, then BP it from there.

Ball 4....

and Ball 8

and Newk has loaded the bases with Muncy comes to the plate leading the league in many offensive categories including nose hair.......

Annnnnnnd....

Muncy crushes one to South America

Yuge vote of confidence for Gausman by the Braves.
I will hope for the best but expect the worst.
Have a bad feeling wild Newk shows up tonight....

Less about Gausman and more about doing what’s necessary to survive at this point. I have a feeling every pitcher is available to pitch today even Folty if necessary.

We could make pitch with Freddy Garcia and it wouldn't matter because this team has shown no patience or life at the plate for two games. I don't see that fixing itself all of a sudden.

One good thing about this move is it gets Pederson and Muncy out of the lineup. Even if Newk acts as nothing more than the opener it forces the Dodgers to either send a lot of RHH to the plate vs Gaus, or forces them to completely empty their bench when Gaus comes in.

We talked about the Dodgers being susceptible to an opener, and maybe that’s what we are seeing now.

I’ve been wanting a bullpen game this entire series, save for Game 1, so if this is what happens I’m cool with it.
