I don’t expect this offense to score a lot. But it doesn’t help we have a manager that still manages like its the regular season of 1991 rather than 2021 playoffs.
 
Snit used Arcia because he has better splits vs. LHP this year than any other option. I mean, it’s super small sample size, but that’s probably the reasoning. Both Adrianza and Contreras have been horrible against LHP this year.

The real answer is that it should’ve been Heredia, who isn’t far behind Arcia in OPS in a much larger sample size.

Are these just MLB numbers or minor league numbers as well?
 
In case it hasn’t been said yet, Pederson needs to be in the starting lineup, regardless of lefty/righty. He clearly thrives in the postseason.

I think the reason is he don’t want Rosario and Pederson playing at the same time because what order lefty we have at the bench that he can trust?

If anyone makes a lineup decision that involves prioritizing a single PH PA over 3-4 regular PAs, they should be fired.

Duvall had some small sample success vs RHP this year, and it has tricked Snit into thinking he’s an everyday middle of the order bat. The correct OF vs RHP is Rosario, Joc and Soler, and always has been. Heredia and Duvall should be used vs LHP at every opportunity, and I’m confident that’s exactly what AA had in mind when he rebuilt the OF. Why he doesn’t force Snit to use these players correctly is something I’ll never understand.

Snit also needs to understand how to unwind a platoon heavy lineup in the middle innings when the opposing manager starts bringing in BP arms. Snit can not allow Hader to face Joc or Rosario, and he can’t let pitchers like Houser face Duvall or Heredia.
