117th Congress

i fully understand why you would rather distract and talk about that instead of the content of that tweet though lol

This is a great example of why I think the hallmark of American politics is hypocrisy. The right is all about corporations having a political voice until the left starts leveraging them to their causes. Conversely, the left considers corporate influence in politics to be evil until they start steering the influence their direction.

It will eventually reverse course and the sides will switch again.

Citizens United was correctly decided. It is still not a good idea. It's why Ive always said I'd support an amendment to the constitution to pare back the political influence of corporations.

I've never understood the Citizens United ruling. It looks like the best argument Democrats have for their complaints of judicial activism to me (I mean, of the stuff they don't like.) The people who are involved in the corporation already have rights, so I don't see the relevance of granting them to the legal entity of a corporation.

Maybe we'll have a small window where there are still enough Elizabeth Warren types and enough new Marco Rubio types that corporation rights in this area can be slashed.

Came across this claim of election fraud. But dont forget all the other stories like the time he lost his virginity to Marilyn Monroe at 15 years old or was kidnapped by Pablo Escobar, etc.

He votes with Dems quite a bit. And he is the only thing stopping a Republican from taking the seat.

Dems should appreciate who they have there

Hold up, I was told by a very stable genius that Democrats dont have a Mitt Romney and vote with their party at all times.

Wow I am 3 minutes in and there a lot to unpack there. Its gonna take a bit but GD that segment is just oozing with hypocrisy.

Nancy Pelosi with a big win passing the Jan. 6 commission bill. This is only gonna make the GOP look worse and worse, no matter what they do in the Senate.

When you get in bed with a scumbag, his stench is hard to get off.

MTG is the fact of the GOP in the same way AOC or The Squad is the face of the Dems. They are the "face" because they're the people that the other side points the spotlight at. It's easier to take the extremist, generalize their views to the whole party, and then tear into those easily attacked views.

more of that good ole " both sides "
you know better

who could ever forget the time AOC and Aryanna Pressley tripped the metal detectors

Question: How comes only (R) argue "well both sides" ?????

I noted both sides were engaging in the same tactic. I didn't say AOC and MTG are equally out there.

Both sides are absolutely engaging in the same practice of trying to make the most extreme members of the other party the face of that party by shining a spotlight on them. Biden should be the face of the Dems but you wouldn't think he is from who the right focuses on. They focus on The Squad because they're easier to attack.

The left actually has it easier with MTG as she's even crazier and loves making headlines. If you want to go with who the face of the Reps should be, you'd probably point to Trump or maybe to McConnell. Not to a first term representative from rural Georgia. But the left shines their spotlight on MTG.

I tend to attack both sides because politicians largely all play the same games. Generalizing from the extreme is a battle tested tactic that everyone in Washington engages in.

For some reason you have blinders on about your own party. You seem to think Reps play games but Dems are virtuous warriors of truth and justice. If you ever wake up and realize that everyone in DC would stab their own grandmother to death to score a political point, you'll probably see things more clearly.
