I have no problem with taxing the rich if it could be done effectively. Unfortunately, attempts to do this tend to be passed down the line to the middle class.
For example, let's say you raise the corporate tax rate. Are the corporations just going to meekly pay up and take the hit? Nope. They're going to try everything they can to avoid a hit to the bottom line. They'll raise prices, have layoffs, not give out raises, etc. They pass the burden off to the middle class.
Simplistic attempts to tax the risk just end up being secret taxes on the middle class. Come up with ways the rich actually have to take the hit and I don't have a problem with it.
Look, we need to tax the rich so government agencies can throw 30k christmas parties.

What a joke. Even she knows the colloquial definition of ironic. Her at that event could literally be a line in the Alanis Morissette song.
"AOC wanted to tax the rich, she ran for congress on a socialist pitch. She got to Washington wanting to see wealth banned, now she's enjoying events where a ticket costs $30 grand."
