1b in Atlanta

Glad you mentioned that. I saw a tweet from Grant Mcc. today I think that said that Flowers and Suzuki ranked 1st and 3rd respectively in balls out of the strike zone called strikes.

No surprise with Flowers. Shocking, if true, about Suzuki, especially considering how often he catches Dickey.

Though balls out of the zone aren't the same as framing metrics.

I agree. I would either keep Adams because we are going to need bench help next year or try and package him with Garcia and/or Phillips to try and get a real prospect from a team. IMO Adams is more valuable to the Braves next year than what he can get on the trade market by himself.

What does his post arbitration salary figure to look like?

Adams plus Garcia might be something.

I do not agree that Adams is the same as he was when we traded for him. All the stats are great, but this guy isn't getting cheap HRs. Adams is still SSS and I get that. But he's also playing every day. He said in st louis article about how good he is feeling playing.

I worry he is going to suck going back to a bench bat.

Adams didn't get a huge chance to play after losing a bunch of weight. I think there are contenders that could use a player like Adams. Especially in the AL. Boston and the Yankees could use him and bid him up. You'd get a pretty solid 1B who can DH or be a bench bat in the playoffs. He's not making much money. I don't think it's crazy to think you could get a B prospect. Many worse value trades have been made. We traded a switch hitting Catcher for Bonifacio.

I said the night we traded for him that I felt he was a prime player that "could" break out. I don't think this is the exception for him. I think this is the player he is now. He lost 30 pounds and is in the best shape of his life. I believe he is not just "poking a few extra over the fence". Evan Gattis bloomed late like that and he had a pretty nice return (yes I get he had more years of control...I'm just saying it's possible). He is consistently mashing the ball and playing a pretty decent 1st base in the process. If I am a GM and need a 1st baseman...who is a better option out there?....especially making so little and being controlled next year also?? Who out there is doing better that would even be available for trade at near the price?? For the money...his production is an all out steal.

Now the question is of course who needs a first baseman that badly, but to say Adams at this point is worth more than when we traded for him is pretty silly. I mean he's not going demand a huge trade , but he is EASILY worth more than what we gave for him with his performance if he keeps up this pace (and I feel he will).

A package of he and Garcia could get a nice return.
