2015 NFL Draft

Not sure why they went with a punter unless they don't plan on keeping Lee long term.

Lee is "older" he'll be turning 33 this offseason but he still should have at least 6 years left.

Really like Jake Rodgers pick. Didn't follow him at all, but it seems like almost all of his issues as an OL are coaching. If he can get coached up he could be a contributor, and if you get a contributor in the 7th round, that's a steal.

His cap number is up there for a punter. maybe they think they'll get a slight haircut in production for a large haircut in cap cost. It's risky if you ask me. Having a great punter is essential for a winning team.

I wouldn't say essential, but it's certainly a valuable asset. It's probably important for the Niners because it gives their defense more cushion. But Lee's cap hit is under 4M basically every year of his contract. Not too bad in reality.

Well Baalke didn't completely screw this draft up, but pretty damn close. DeAndre Smelter has potential. Coming off ACL surgery back in December. Kid can make a ton of plays on the field.

Either way Baalke needs to be fired after this season if it plays out like it could.

Apparently La'el Collins is going to sign as an UDFA and the amount an UDFA can sign for is capped. Considering he played at LSU I have to think the Saints have to be the front runners to sign him when/if he is cleared. Sign Collins and the Saints OLine is close to set for the next decade.

Also heard Grady Jarrett burned his house down after learning he was drafted by the Falcons :)

I love that the Cowboys got Gregory at 60. Top 3 pass rusher in the draft, fell (mostly) for smoking weed? Sign me up. I'm glad they're willing to take chances like that.

You really are a proponent of signing some shady ass players to bolster on field performance.

I don't think that's all that made Gregory slide.

Gregory slid because of the disrespect he showed teams where made them question his desire. This guy has to be a moron; he's looking at a huge payday and can't show up on time and stay awake for job interviews?

Gregory didn't fall because he smokes weed.

Gregory fell because he is bipolar and potentially has other mental health issues. I feel sorry for the other guy, but there are plenty of reasons why this guy is red flagged by everyone.

There was also the report that he missed meetings with three different teams.

If it was just weed then he would have been a first round pick like Shane Ray (a far inferior prospect).

Pretty smitten with Atlanta's draft. Addressed needs, got players that physically fit the mold that they are designed to play, and we got faster. TD took too many high football IQ guys, rather than guys that had the measurables to fall back on if the light never turned on.

Best draft we have had in years. The only way we could have gone which would make me really gung ho about it was either a LG at 2 our 2nd round pick, or Rashad Greene instead of Hardy. Hoping we can take a top WR and TE next year.

I'm really worried about the offensive line. It has the chance to be really bad.

I love the Falcons draft as well. Beasley was a guy I loved in this draft. Coleman was a perfect pick up in the 3rd round. I'm not a huge fan of Collins, but he clearly has potential.

I'm not a big fan of Hardy either, but he was really productive in the slot at ECU.

The ZBS should alleviate some of the issues we have. I remember last time we went to it, our OL turned around in one offseason and I think we have at least that much talent there now. They played better down the stretch last year.

Guy was a catch machine. Good mitts. Runs sharp routes. I think 4th is good value for him. I wanted Lockette, but he was way gone. Hardy showed well at Senior Bowl (a like using it as a good measuring stick for players just like him that played off the radar a bit).
