Well yes right now that's true. But he also doesn't have the expected payroll bump to play with at this time. We could potentially have 50 million in payroll flexibility this winter. It's gotta go to somebody, and if they're serious about 2017 being the year, then they would be well suited to spend it on a veteran ace pitcher. And it also weakens a division rival as well.
