Yes, the Braves could have had a 16 million dollar 4th OF. I'm sure they are kicking themselves given he was awful in Atlanta and there is little reason to think he would have been better given more time.
Pads liked him so much they ate his contract to get rid of him.
I swear for someone who acts like the smartest guy in the room 24/7 you say some dumb ****.
Wow all hail the mighty Enscheff who is never wrong. How do you immediately reply to almost everything with your championship corn hole antics, your wildly successful millionaire business ventures, and your rigorous MMA training routine. All that yet you're always at the computer to reply immediately... curious....
Pay up on our bet and I'll prove one aspect of my personal life to you. That should help keep you from laying in bed wondering about what my life is actually like.
Its wasnt as good as the others but a heck of a lot better than what we got from Pads and we had an extra year of control.
Better signing - Cubs signing Jason Heyward from Stl
Or
STL signing Fowler away from Chicago Cubs
Discuss.
You sure about that? They got Margot, which is great. Guerra isn't that great. They're pretty comparable.
Yes I am sure about that. Margot is better than any of them and that's realistically what matters. A real chance to be an impact player.
I've said it a million times it feels like, but Justin Turner is a PERFECT fit for us.
Inciarte CF
Swanson SS
Freeman 1B
Kemp LF
Turner 3B
Markakis RF
Flowers C
Teheran RHP
Albies 2B

I fail to see how it was a heckuva lot better. I keep seeing years of control as some of huge benefit. Years of control aren't as valuable when the player is getting paid at premium price.
Is 3/33 a premium price for Craig Kimbrel?

It's funny to me that you and Enscheff stick strictly to numbers until you come upon an argument where the numbers don't support what you want, so you start just throwing out feelings and such.
His contract at the time was not an absolute premium, but it certainly wasn't cheap. Again, he had about $26 million in surplus value attached at the time of the Braves trade, over 4 years. His value has dropped since.
Not to mention that it was universally acclaimed at the time of the trade.
And it was also widely accepted amongst most fans that keeping Kimbrel on a 60 win team made no sense.
Its the standard moving of the goalposts on here to paint the Braves organization in a bad light or one that isn't embracing the enlightened sabermetric movement which of course is nonsense.
Is it trying to paint the team in a bad light if it's suggested the Braves sold themselves short by attacking Melvin to Kimbrel? Also Quientin and Maybin have to be factored into the trade as well to get a complete analysis.
I don't think it was a bad trade but the Braves likely could have gotten more if it was just Kimbrel.
