Because it's funny and I'm happy that the establishment finally got rocked for once. These stupid crying kids are all brainwashed by the media, thinking that we are now heading toward some sort of totalitarian state with concentration camps for minorities and gays while the rest of the white men run around raping and pillaging the women. They can't think any further than getting their tranny bathrooms and their "pronouns" legislated into law while important **** like NAFTA stripped this country of it's solid middle class. They have no idea about that and quite frankly, they don't care because it doesn't involve them personally. So yeah, I take a lot of satisfaction in seeing these stupid kids crying and threatening to move to Canada over the election. Although it's funny how none of them are racist but you don't see any of them threatening to move to Mexico.

I'd love to see the proof that NAFTA "stripped this country of its middle class." I miss the days when Republicans supported free trade.

Doubt it. Most people who I know who voted gj were reps. Stein maybe made some dents but I doubt it. Johnson hurt Trump more than Stein hurt Hillary. But the Dems will be saying it was because of third parties.

You may want to put yourself in their shoes. They certainly have a right to be disappointed. Shame on them for wanting to work for something they believe in.
 
My theory is:

-Trump's internal polling knew he was up big. He continued to play the rigged and underdog card, to make sure his base who thought it was rigged would come out in huge droves guaranteed. It also was a smokescreen to Clinton voters who thought she was going to win by a landslide so some stayed home not thinking he had any chance to win.

-Clinton's inner circle knew she was down, which was why she brought in Barack, Michelle, Bernie, Warren, and Biden to campaign for her in the homestretch.

I think behind the scenes both campaigns knew this result was coming. There was talk that Clinton's team prepared her two speeches. Trump apparently had written only a concession speech, but went back to the hotel to write a victory speech. I think that might have just been theatrics.

Either way you slice it, this was a crazy night.

I think it was always going to boil down to segmented turnout. Like I posted in a different thread, there's no solid measure for voter enthusiasm and Hillary obviously felt the need to up it on her side. Clinton had the better ground game and Trump had a macro strategy. Obama won in 2012 because of his ground game and I think Hillary thought she could do the same thing. Interesting that Nate Silver missed the Michigan Democratic primary and the Michigan general and pretty much for the same reason.

Same can be said re Trump and his impassioned supporters. The choices were bad and worse, the question was just how you ranked them.

I don't disagree that the elites needed a wake-up call, but the people in those pictures aren't members of the elite. Many of those people donated their time and effort to a cause they found worthy. They lost. They have a right to be disappointed and not ridiculed. I'd feel the same way if a resident Dem posted similar pics if Trump had lost.

I guess having been in the rough-and-tumble (and I was an aggressive fighter for the candidates I worked with), I grew to have a respect for all who get involved. Even Michelle Bachmann. When the game's over, you don't gloat. Not saying you're gloating. Just thought the pics displayed a lack of class.
 
I don't see them as insulting. It is just like seeing the UGA or UT fans at the end of that game this year. Objectively its just people caught up in the moment. It is just emotion. No one lost anything major, and its not the end of these peoples worlds.

This is critical to understanding the results. Well put.

To add on, the past two years of this campaign, the middle class white voters have been identified as racists, privileged, ignorant, homophobic, misogynists, and uninformed. This was HRC's message to them. In a lot of ways, their support of Trump was simply a protest to that.
