honestly I've lost of ton of respect for Maddon this series... the Chapman stuff and then taking out Kendricks when he did... got too cute.

I'm going to sound like a cranky old-timer (which isn't difficult for me), but I think the thing with Maddon is all about the aesthetic. He's got the goatee, wears the hoodie, wears his hat backwards at times, etc., etc. No doubt about it. He's hipper than those old tobacco-stained wretches in double-knits Sansabelt slacks. He's a good manager, but people really go overboard on the guy.
