Order of teams I would be ok seeing the world burn before the series ended:
Red Sox
Dodgers
Mets
Nationals
 
The play where Span was called out at second is Exhibit A for why there's no point in having replay anymore. He was clearly safe, and if you can't get it right, there's no point. Replay in sports has arguably made umpires/officials worse. If they're not going to remain committed to doing it right, I'd rather just suffer with the old way.
 
Jayson Stark trying to compare this to the Smoltz-Jack Morris duel. I don't think they're close at all. That was for the world championship, and Morris went 10 innings.

right. this is a great pitching match up but that game will always be remembered. this game will be largely forgotten as I see both teams getting bounced next round anyways.
 
No excusing Rivera's lousy pitch-framing, but are the umps that blind that the lack of a frame excuses missed strike calls?

We'll see but Giants can only use Bumgarner once in the next round.
 
This is what the Giants do every time they get in. Someone new steps up and delivers. I would be terrified if I was a Cubs fan.
