Yeah, losing EE would really hurt them and they're good, but have to compete with the Sox, Yankees AND Orioles. Everyone on MLB and ESPN keep saying this is kind of their final stand -- and I agree.

My guess is they'll let Bautista walk and go all in on Encarcion.

They do need pitching.

Joey Bats is 35 now and on the sever down slope with pathetic defense in right field. They could easily let him go and find another OF. Stroman/Sanchez/Estrada/Happ isn't a terrible rotation.

They'll let Joey go, why they acquired Melvin.

They'll make a big push to keep Edwin but he'll be 34, and i dont know if many teams offer him 5+ years.

The rotation is one of the best in the AL, lineup would take a hit though if they lost both.

man the playoffs is where weakness get exposed. The Cubbies have some swing and misses in their lineup and if they are not hitting bombs, they just are not scoring. It really makes me happy we are rebuilding around pitching...
