if i undertand correctly raising the taxes on the rich are only one part of his proposal.

Included are a higher minimum wage, revised health care system and an infra structure rebuild that will provide a gimantic boost ti the economy

the numbers I've seen and history seem to back him up

Yes and that inflation will raise prices, instead of the dollar menu, we would have the two dollar menu.

Now, I hope I get the same increase in wages because my cost of doing things will be higher.

It is only fair. A person with a degree should get the same percentage of increase with a person with no degree or a GED. Fair is fair.

I am not rich, just middle class and those who want mim wage increase are infringing on my territory.

as more money goes into the economy demand will rise and as demand rises supply will have to make equal adjustments.

what does fair have to do with anything

Bernie Sanders wants to more than double the minimum wage to $15, and he also wants to end our free trade agreements, which he claims are sending American jobs overseas (see the issues section on his 2016 campaign website). I'd like to hear from Bernie (or his many supporters on this website) why he apparently thinks businesses are not sensitive to labor price increases when it concerns the min wage, but are when it concerns international trade. Not making sense to me...

Interesting article chronicling Sen Sanders time in Vermont politics:

"“Bernie was never anti-growth, anti-development, or anti-business,” explained Monte. “He just wanted businesses to be responsible toward their employees and the community. He wanted local entrepreneurs to thrive. He wanted people to have good jobs that pay a living wage. If you could deal with that, you could deal with Bernie and Bernie would deal with you.”

.......................

Burlington is now widely heralded as an environmentally friendly, lively, and livable city with a thriving economy, including one of the lowest jobless rates in the country. Burlingtonians give Sanders credit for steering the city in a new direction that, despite early skepticism, proved to be broadly popular with voters.

A growing number of cities—including Seattle, New York, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Newark, and others—are now led by progressive mayors. They are adopting municipal minimum wage laws, requiring developers to build mixed-income housing, strengthening regulations against corporate polluters, and enacting other policies to address the nation’s growing economic inequality and environmental crises.

I know he has a more comprehensive approach than what I laid out and I'm not against raising the effective tax rate of the rich, but, at least to me, a lot of this boils down to more sacrifice on the part of everyone to build up the entire society and somewhere along the line, the word "sacrifice" was taken out of every dictionary in America. I don't equate science with public policy, but for every action taken, something is going to happen some place else. I'm all for raising the minimum wage. I worked for the minimum wage when I was in my Haight-Ashbury days, so I get that one. But the minute McDonald's raises the price of a Quarterpounder by a nickel, there's damn near a revolt. I've only used this as an example of the action/reaction thing, but as much as I respect Sanders, the ripple effects of much of what he proposes unfortunately creates more fear than comfort.

PS--I'm also for single-payer, but we've seen how that tune plays out.

I know nothing about the trade agreement and following this just to see what everyone thinks.

Questions.

1) If policy is irrelevant to the point you are trying to make, what is the point you are trying to make?

2) What is " freer" ?

Like I said I don't have a point of view and am ignorant of trade policies
