2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

you.

It is on record Obama had virtually no contact with his father yet the brothers Koch ...

not so much.

So your analogy doesn't fit.

Oh gosh, analogy -- guess Sturg and chop get new words today

I'm here for yuz

Hawk's right, it was sarcasm, specifically against those who call Obama a Muslim, a Kenyan, etc. Obama may be a sucky president (just like the last one) but if he's a Muslim he's probably the worst one of those ever, since he eats pork, drinks beer, dances with his wife in public, doesn't make her dress in a beekeeper suit, drone bombs other Muslims, doesn't have a decent beard...and the list goes on and on.

Mods, can we please get a "dripping with sarcasm" emoticon off in here?

I got your sarcasm but thought it made light of the seriousness of Koch family involvement in JBS and other spin off organizations .
The Kochs were / are the driving force behind Scott Walker and now Marco Rubio.

Charles Koch was not simply a rank and file member of the John Birch Society in name only who paid nominal dues. He purchased and held a "lifetime membership" until he resigned in 1968. He also lent his name and his wealth to the operations of the John Birch Society in Wichita, aiding its "American Opinion" bookstore -- which was stocked with attacks on the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King, and Earl Warren as elements of the communist conspiracy. He funded the John Birch Society's promotional campaigns, bought advertising in its magazine, and supported its distribution of right-wing radio shows. -

The brothers have made significant financial contributions to libertarian and conservative think tanks and campaigns. They actively fund and support organizations that contribute significantly to Republican candidates, and that lobby against efforts to expand government's role in health care and combat global warming.[4] They have donated more than $100 million to dozens of free-market and advocacy organizations.[4] In 2008, the three main Koch family foundations contributed to 34 political and policy organizations, three of which they founded, and several of which they direct.[4] Some of the political activities of the Koch brothers have been criticized by organizations such as Greenpeace and politicians such as Harry Reid.

I make light of everything. That's what I do!! I agree that the Kochs are major league aholes, I just wish they were the only ones out there who were like that. There's one in OK, I forget his name, he looks like one of the fat redneck aholes from just about any Civil Rights movie you've ever seen who recently tried to get OU to fire all the people in the science department there who spoke out about what he and the other oil men of OK were doing to our environment.

Bedel why do you bother with Steak Sauce? His IQ might hit double digits, obviously rode the short bus back the 50's and a complete idiot.

I don't even bother. I get dumber each time I read his posts because he is so up the Liberal/Democrats ass, he doesn't see sunshine anymore. He is a lemming, a robot and his only thing is life is make them relevant and they are not. Higher taxes are in the future if Sanders win because I think Clinton might be in a little trouble.

So if you are middle class like me, you are royally f ucked if Sanders win.

Disagree, Sanders doesn't want to raise taxes or anything on the middle class. He wants the upper class to pay more. Is that risky, yes, but considering the middle class has been shrinking anyway, maybe it's time for a change. Welfare created the middle class maybe it's needed to get it's **** together.

My friend I hate to tell you this (OK since I've already told you this 42 times I guess I must not hate it too much) we are totally f*cked anyway. The top 10% have been given carte blanche to sport pfark us for the last 30+ years, since as President (back when he was running for president and could afford to occasionally tell the truth) George HW Bush rigthly called it, voodoo economics, was given the keys to the nation's safety deposit box. If something really radical isn't done within the next 10 years, maybe even less, this nation will implode on its own debt and totally effed up wealth distribution, or it will explode into a VERY large scale version of the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, which most experts at the time said resembled Nazi Germany than anything American. While I don't agree with him, or anyone else I guess, I'd rather have someone like Sanders who might try to change the way things are going, at least for both weeks he survives IF he even gets elected. I really hope he picks someone really good as a VP, assuming he gets past the establishment's female ho (Hillary) or their male ho (whichever one of the clown car cast is trying to keep up with the Donald this week).

If we're all going to run so scared of what the rich "might do" if Bernie gets it why do we even bother to pretend we live in a democracy anyway?

I'm a glutton and he trolls me. Dumb, I know.

it is mathematically impossible to do what Sanders is proposing without raising taxes on everyone

Not really. Most of his plan is settled around reappropriating federal funds. With a multi-trillion dollar budget anyone can do just about anything they want with re-appropriation.

I don't troll you

I simply see your world view leading to a theocracy that is based on your religion and the that you use dishonest data to make your points.
Other than that, you're alright. Mislead but, alright

ah, I don't know about all of that.

Based on information that has been vetted I just disagree with you on issues
wouldn't care to speculate the composition of your heart.

" Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: "
read that somewhere

I'm kind of your mainstream, consensus-based left-of-center guy, but you can tax the living daylights out of the top 1% and you won't be able to do the things Sanders wants to accomplish. I think zito's point about cutting parts of the budget is valid, but there would have to be huge cuts to defense and discretionary spending to be able to give Sanders the fiscal elbow room to fund his priorities.

The key for Sanders (and any left-of-center pol) is convincing the middle class that paying more taxes would provide services they want (and need) and that the sacrifice is worth it. Unfortunately, Dems have been losing that argument since the mid-1970s.
