Right. And you think Obamacare is the shiznit, and Obama is the shiznit.
I am a George McGovern Democrat.
Having said that, I supported Jimmy Carter in 1976 over McCarthy because I didn't see McCarthy being able to advance any of the causes I wanted supported.
Carter was by no stretch equal in policy to McGovern.
I watched Ted Kennedy give the Presidency to Ronald Reagan and the solar panels removed from the White House roof
I was a Jerry Brown supporter before he lost the nomination to Bill Clinton. I thought Bill Clinton better choice than Bush 41
I watched HRC raked over the coals for being a professional/confidnt/highly qualified woman. Then having the audacity to advocate for the health care program that I am pretty sure would suit your tastes
I watched Ralph Nader and his supporters give us Iraq and the Bush tax cuts.
I watched HRC lazily vote to give authority to Bush 43 ...
I voted Obama over HRC and would again
Given the opportunity I will vote Sanders over Clinton and like I said whoever is the (D) nominee will get my general election vote
................
I don't think Obama is all that I just get tired of him being vilified for, PWB. (PresidentingWhileBlack)
Gitmo is still open and I am against the use of drones I think he could/should do more to stop the war on drugs I think he should have thrown the people that caused the collapse of 08 in prison and I think he should have stepped aside to allow the prosecution of Bush 43 and Cheney for the Iraq War. I wish he would have unilaterally pulled us out of Afghanistan
Was he a better choice to meet my ends than McCain, Romney and HRC. No doubt in my mind
....
ACA I see fitting into the half a loaf is better than no loaf.
When Truman integrated the military in 48 it was by no means the end of segregation but a first step. Brown vs Board of Education didn't end segregation either. Nothing has completely ended racial divides. But, the world is far more integrated / racially equal than it was in 1948. It may take 50 years to get the health care system I think we deserve.
.........
George McGovern got trounced in 1972. His platform was pretty much aligned with Sanders of 2016. Instead of ending the Viet Nam War the day after his inaugriation, universal health care and progressive welfare policies we got 2 more years of war and Watergate.
For the third time, I will vote for Sanders in the primary and the (D) nominee in the general
