2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

If Rand Paul somehow won the Rep nomination, that would be a tough choice for me between RP and GJ. I prefer GJ, but I might be willing to compromise on a couple of positions to get RP into office. The rest of the Rep field is mostly a tire fire, IMO. And on the left? Forget it. I would just hope it's someone I respect, not a moron like Joe Biden.

I've only stayed a registered Rep so I can vote for RP in the primary (well, that and I have no motivation to change affiliation because who cares).

This is a very odd list.

Not really odd at all. Sanders and Warren would go after wall street and be more favorable to the middle class. Biden would just be Obama again mostly with some comedy.

As for my libertarian choice at least they're socially liberal and less likely to go to war. And Rand would be the only "republican" I'd consider voting for.

Rands actually grown on me. Always thought he was a non-interventionist pussy. Guess he's not.

He is much more non interventionalist than you think. I think he's basically the same as his dad, just says things to appease to the base he needs to get nominated.

Rands for fighting ISIS and understands the global threat of Islamic terrorism.

Always love this. We have to show off how strong we are! We are emotionally unbalanced high schoolers, but certainly no PUSSIES!!!

You're right. Let's just stand back and watch ISIS dismantle and give back the land that they took. After that I'm sure Putin will pull out of Ukraine and give Chimea back to the Ukrainians. Shortly after that I imagine that boko harem will find God and go their separate ways.

I just think the "don't be a pussy!" rhetoric is funny but also scary, because that's exactly what people in high school who are insecure and trying to prove their manhood say.

I think even some of the liberal base is losing favor with Hilldog. Even then the only Republican I probably would prefer over Hillary is Rand... since Johnson is a pipe dream.

Warren won't run so long as Hillary is in the race. She's already said she wasn't going to provide a "Bitch-fight" for the media. So, you have to take out Hillary to get Warren, which who knows, might be a part of this latest email kerfuffle.

I'll take Hilary out to Applebees, but no where nicer than that.

No, though Neo-Con and Obama policy have provided the fertile context for it. It is the creation of a certain brand of Islam, as The Atlantic article so carefully explains.

Cripes, Bedell. When it comes to what created the media that allowed ISIS to grow, would you compare Obama's dithering in Syria to Bush's leaving the institutions and infrastructure of Iraq in smoldering ruin? Disbanding the Iraqi army?

I'm ready to announce my current choice for the 2016 Republican candidate for president:

Paul Ryan

Not really odd at all. Sanders and Warren would go after wall street and be more favorable to the middle class. Biden would just be Obama again mostly with some comedy.

Point, but you have to admit, the comedy WOULD be funny. And I’d find Biden both less Hawkish (I am aware of the irony) and more harsh to Wall Street. For all the socialist labeling and nonsense, Obama is basically a centrist technocrat. I don’t see Biden that way.

But he WOULD be funnier, and that’s worth something.

But as we've discussed here in Biden thread, it wouldn't be facepalm Bush comedy it'd be that's your raucous weird drunken uncle.

I don't think Biden would be less hawkish than Obama though. Probably a little more if not the same. I also don't know if Biden would be as harsh on wall street as I'd want him to be like Sanders or Warren.

Biden is afterall more of an establishment Washington insider than Hilldog. I could see Biden being more of a Bill Clinton 3rd term than Hillary would.

Or Rand knows he has no shot at winning the base in the primaries if he runs on his dad's non intervention foreign policy platform when the other 7 candidates on stage debating will be screaming for war and blood.

Simply Rand cannot be the sideshow his dad was on that stage. He needs to cater enough tk satisfy the base. Doesn't mehe'll govern that way.
