2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

I think you are drunk and in the morning you will rethink this one. I mean could he beat Trump? Maybe but it would be close. Why would it be close? Because Sanders is a socialist and Trump struggles to make his points without offending the majority of Americans. It's a good rivalry. Could he beat the more legit contenders? No.

You don't think Bernie would get 35% of the vote? Ha ha

I hope Bernie Sanders runs as a third party candidate. A vote for Sanders would be a vote for the GOP.

He could beat most of the GOP field. You think someone like Rubio would have a shot against him? You don't realize how anti-average the republican beliefs have become. The more moderate republicans and libertarians curry all the favor nationally. Tea Party and religious zealots don't.

Rubio would destroy him. Half the country won't vote for Sanders just because he has socialist attached to his name. We're getting there, but I don't think we're there yet.

he has already said he won't run as a 3rd party candidate.

i don't know if i agree with that

but what makes it funny, a large portion of those people you are talking about it live off socialism already

That's from a gallup poll by the way. Half said they would not consider voting for a socialist.

ok

i am sure republicans would try to drive home that "scary word"

and Bernie won't run from it and would explain why the same people that are "scared" of it shouldn't be and already enjoy socialist policies

when someone can show me an actual path to victory for republicans, i might take that question serious

since, Bernie would be picking up the dem vote and a large portion of the swing/independent vote

live in reality and talk about the situation.

How is that any different than Ron Paul in 2012. He would have gotten the anti-obama republican vote, and he would have gotten plenty of the pro civil-liberties, anti-war independent vote.

But everyone was sure he had no chance. And they were right.

The same is true of your boy... and thank goodness

Rubio is terrible. He'll get wrecked on the national stage.

It's not just the word socialist, but the issues that come along with it. It's a tough sell. Significantly higher tax rates for all Americans, much bigger federal government, pacifism, federal debt, weaker growth, etc.

That turns off a lot of voters. It's not like Bernie can just own the stage and only sell the "good" things about socialism. He's going to be hit hard on the negatives that come along with it. He's going to rattle off a bunch of things people like to hear, but that's no different than any other liberal.

Another thing about Bernie is that he kind of gives off the crazy old man vibe as well. I just don't know that he is all that presidential.

federal debt.

What R or D candidate is against Federal Debt? I'll give you a hint, none. Paul may be the only one close.

Want a history lesson? Every president from Hoover on addedto the debt. The biggest additions vs predecessor were FDR (which should be obvious) Reagan, Bush, Bush and Obama. See a trend?

I'll be interested to see how Bernie does in the primaries outside of Iowa and NH where he's been making strong gains.

We all still need to remember crazy **** happens. Hillary after all had 2008 sewn up.

I am fairly confident though that neither Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal or Lincoln Chafee will be president.

The situation in Greece is always a good reminder of what reckless spending can do to a country

But America should be more like Europe a lot of people say. The Greece situation is messed up. it isn't going to end well for all the leftist over there.

You do realize that both the Rs and Ds support deficit spending. We're already controlled by European Bankers (Fed)

Except we don't have German fiscal savvy (or anywhere close to the resolve of her working class) to bail us out of our poor spending habits.

Also, there's no way in hell Americans would ever agree to the type of austerity measures which would relax defecit spending. So there's that.

So why support someone like Bernie - who only wants to compound this

Bernie I want to beat hilary, just like I want Paul to win the R nomination. Because I think they're the lesser of the evils of the candidates. I'll still probably vote for Stein or Johnson.
