2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

" And finally, there’s also the debate question itself. Carson dismissed the entire line of inquiry as “total propaganda,” and he added yesterday that the question was “very unfair.” Around the same time, however, his spokesperson said that these questions are “absolutely” fair and not “gotcha” questions. Who’s right, the candidate or the candidate’s spokesperson? "

“If you go to 100 doctors, and 99 of them tell you have diabetes, you wouldn’t say, ‘Ah, that’s a conspiracy. All 99 doctors got together with Obama to keep me from having bacon and donuts,’” he joked. “You wouldn’t do that.”

Ben Carson Schools Archaeologists on Who Really Built the Pyramids
By Margaret Hartmann

Many of the current Republican presidential candidates doubt scientists' claims, but only Ben Carson is bold enough to take on Big History. Carson has already questioned commonly accepted narratives about Charles Darwin, slavery, the Holocaust, and on Wednesday BuzzFeed revealed he's also skeptical of what we've been told about ancient history. In video of a 1998 commencement at Andrews University, Carson explains his belief that the pyramids in Egypt were built by the biblical figure Joseph, with a little help from God.

"My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain," Carson said, referring to the story of Joseph advising an Egyptian pharaoh to store grain to prepare for a coming famine. "Now all the archaeologists think that they were made for the pharaohs’ graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big if you stop and think about it. And I don’t think it'd just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain."

Carson also has some news for people who think aliens had a hand in the creation of the pyramids. "[W]hen you look at the way that the pyramids are made, with many chambers that are hermetically sealed, they'd have to be that way for various reasons," Carson said. "And various of scientists have said, 'Well, you know there were alien beings that came down and they have special knowledge and that's how–' you know, it doesn't require an alien being when God is with you." (The alien theory is mainly popular with people who watch too much History Channel, not serious scientists, but close enough.)

Later on Wednesday, Carson confirmed to CBS News that he still subscribes to his alternate history of Egypt. "The pyramids were made in a way that they had hermetically sealed compartments," Carson said. "You would need that if you were trying to preserve grain for a long period of time." Carson was not asked what he has to say to the generations of scholars who concluded the pyramids were tombs or monuments to deceased pharaohs, but presumably it would have gone something like this:

I did not know if I released secret information or not on my personal emails servers - Hilary Clinton

or the above

I wonder which one is more important information, our security or someone's hypothesis?

I think I'd rather have a crook running the country than someone who's bat**** insane/that dumb.

Don't get me wrong. Carson isn't an idiot. He can't be and be a brain surgeon. It's impossible, but osme people odn't have common sense. I don't want someone who doesn't have common sense to run my country.

Christie and Huck sent to "Kiddies Table"
The picture that conjures

Oh yeah, Hawk, remember BridgeGate and how Christie would ... how's that going ?

There are actually indictments and trial dates surrounding that event
HRC emails -- guess we are still waiting -- to even find out ... whatever it is they are tryig to find out ?
By the way, if memory serves during the Bridgegate fiasco, there were Emergency vehicles held up in traffic.
For spite - but hey, HRC is a walking scandal
gotch ya

But Christie will be alright -- right ?
Kids Table

If I recall correctly you said Christie would be in jail ... I suppose that could still be forthcoming, like Breitbart fabricating KKK lists or whatever other conspiratorial angle the lunatic fringe of your party is buying into.

Where's a good meme when you need one.

Oh.

It is his opinion and his opinion only and he said it himself, HIS opinion, and it is biblical. He won't be dictating Christianity to the masses, just like Kennedy, by his Catholicism, had some pretty radical ideas based on religion and he turned out alright.

A crook who has and would compromise our security is much much worse.

I find it interesting that Steak Sauce will attack any front runner in the GOP with anything from the media, which will make the issue more than it is because Hillary is in the dog house and they are trying to cover up any security issues she has compromise knowing the nation is not going to trust a crook.

Maybe the GOP is right, they try to make sure they are smeared and Clinton covered.

They know if Sanders was presented a question of how you're going to pay for free stuff without hiking taxes is not going to work, especially the middle class that would be actually ruined with the minimum wage increase and tax on the businesses.

Actually I am fascinated by the 20 year drip drip drip build up vs HRC

and fascinated by how quick her opponents are to defend any and all like accusation / innuendo.
Even when proven factual
Or fanciful

But it isn't Biblical. I am not aware of it being in the Bible anywhere that Joseph and God built the pyramids. An opinion would be whether you think the Egyptian pyramids were better looking or better constructed than the Meso-American pyramids, not who built them or when. They had already been around 600-700 years, at least, when Joseph came on the scene. My only question on this would be, did Carson really say those things. I've heard bits and pieces that definitely suggest that he did, but if he didn't say them he'd better be stepping up and letting that be known. Do we really want any presidential candidate who takes a verse here or a verse there and uses it to hypnotize the American people?

Remember when the Pope was here and he'd say something that clearly called out BS the Republicans and/or wealthy Americans, talk radio hosts, etc., were guilty of, they called him names and feigned moral outrage, and the Dems loved it? Then he called them out on abortion, ssm, etc., and they feigned outrage and the Repubs loved it? Didn't that teach anyone anything? BOTH parties suck, NEITHER party has any moral high ground at all. Supporting evil because you feel like it's slightly less evil than that other evil, it still supporting evil!!!! It's time for Americans to be smarter than all the Goebbels wannabes out there who use cute sayings and catch phrases to influence peoples' minds. You all know how I feel about the Repub party, not necessarily Republicans but their party is vile beyond words and if you really looked at the facts instead of being lulled into a stupor by rhetoric you all would see that Hillary IS a Repub. All the same people own her who own the leading Repub candidates. All these people getting in an uproar because mannequin A is SOOOOOOO different than mannequin B shows them that they have us already. The truth is that mannequins are mannequins, what difference does it make?

I don't think Bernie can do half of what he's saying either. The people who own our elected officials own too many members of Congress to let that happen, but using the excuse that his plans would destroy the middle class is wrong IMO, the middle class in this country is already destroyed or at best a shell of its former self. And for anyone who's afraid to stand up to the top 1% because they'd take their wealth and leave the country or they'd do this or they'd do that, in what universe is that living in a democracy? It clearly is what it is we live in a oligarchy, where a relative handful of people control all the major stuff and they won't be happy until we're all back in the Middle Ages living on their land, working ourselves to death by the time we're 30 to make their living for them. And then we'll have to ask "by your leave" before we go anywhere or do anything. Is that what we're all OK with?

Oh and do you remember that saying of mine from the past few election cycles? When candidates, Republican candidates at least, say the stuff Christians want them to say, abortion is bad, ssm is bad, or really just about anything that is taken from the Bible, even taken totally out of context from the Bible, Christians (at least generally speaking) are happy and will support that candidate and as long as they say those things Christians want to hear, Christians typically don't care what else they say and they don't care what they do. It's like they focus so much on hearing what they want to hear they literally can't see anything else or hear anything else that's said/done.

Enjoy your freedoms while you still have them.

Enjoy your freedoms while you still have them.

True.

Give up your freedom of values and morality so government can own them = Democrats (1984, Equilibrium, Hunger Games)
Give up your chance to make money or a life = Republicans (Wall Street, Falling Down)

I don't know, both are evil, one, you have no voice, the other well if you work hard you get rewarded.

Since I don't like anyone controlling my morality, feelings and forcing me to pay for things I shouldn't and the other, be it slavery or what else, I could better myself due to my abilities.

Sorry Okie, I don't like the greed part of Republicans (extorting money, sending jobs overseas, trying to make the quick buck), which Carson isn't by the way, but I rather them let me do what I do to better myself without the other side forcing me to accept their beliefs in a system similar to a nerfed version of Communism. Nor I like the idea of letting people off the hook for votes and then burden us middle class to pay for it, nor like the idea of lawyers getting free reign costing tax payers more for frivolous law suits, nor like the idea that people have to pay for schooling if that particular schools sucks and you have no choice and do not ask me about common core - they absolutely hate it here, teachers included.

Well first of all we're already a socialist nation and have been since the mid-late 1800s. That socialist = communist stuff is just another scare tactic like "Al Gore's gonna come and get my gun", or "Obama is going to invade us down here in TX and take our guns and our freedom". How are either of those any worse than anything the Dems do? I think you're smarter than to believe any of that crap. You just REALLY don't want to be thought of as a stereotypical black Democrat that literally anything other than that is acceptable, either before you spin it or afterwards if necessary. And hey, that's totally your call, as long as you know that's what they're doing to you.

As for being forced to do something I don't want to do (I'm assuming you're talking about union dues but I am not 100% sure) we all get forced to do stuff all the time. I live in OK, one of the reddest states on the planet, and they have cut taxes on our wealthiest individuals and businesses but they tax the living ****e out of me every year, even though I DON'T work in OK, period. Isn't income tax supposed to be based on your income? My income in OK is ZERO, they're job friendly environment is only friendly for the other end of the spectrum. I was hired by the Florida Virtual School a few years back to teach online and everything was official, they had even set up my flight to Orlando and which training session I was to attend and then it was put off and then it was put off again, and I was finally able to find out that it was the people in one of the state agencies in OK wouldn't work with them on how to set up my with holdings, they just simply didn't care, and wouldn't work with them to get things set up. I simply didn't matter to them.

I don't know much about common core since I don't teach in the public schools anymore but as I've stated before the next person who tells me they like it, will also be the first person to tell me they like it. I'll try and do a little research on it and get back with you in a few days. I know it won't be before then.

Oh and one more thing, as a tech type person, do you really think you'd be making a living wage, getting holidays off, and all the other stuff we all take for granted these days if it wasn't for labor unions? I agree about them being full of it, now and really for the last 50 or 60 years, but they ever completely do away with them do you really think your take home pay will increase?

I worked for Rockwell Collins for a long time, they had a union, but only for manufacture (blue collar), all white collar people were not in unions, hence why most of those jobs eventually went to Mexico, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico because the union gambled and loss. Plus those workers, half with GED's made more money than the techs and wanted more and now they don't make any.

So no, outside of working for the government earlier in my life, but they didn't have union fees that I knew of or meetings, I never worked for a union. My dad part of government and my mom as a teacher did so that is where we fought. They hated the dues but it was necessary to keep your job.....let me repeat...to keep your job. If you don't play ball with them, you are gone, that simple. A control mechanism, which I actually hate. But it paid off in the end, kissing their asses for 35+ years they are retired and doing well.

Present company I worked at does not have a union and they did try to get a foothold but told to get bent over. They tried to take workers from us, but the dues what made them stay with us. We pay better with better bennies than companies with unions.

Now as a token black, it is not about being black, it is about having your own life and to do what you want with it. I don't want anyone controlling my actions, beliefs or morality. As long as I don't PHYSICALLY harm you, steal from you, then you should not tell me what the hell to do or how to think or how to feel which liberals want more than any other. I should have a say so in my kids education and I have to pay out of my pocket for my eldest and reaped the reward for that and my two youngest in private schools. State ran schools are not up to par and not even close. I think the teachers there just want the bennies and collect a check. One of co-workers said that teachers are giving instructions on what to teach, how to teach and meet this criteria. Discipline, nonexisting now. I remembered growing up we had fun when we learn, parties and what not, but if we were bad, a paddle on the backside or writing 200 times, " I will not spit paper at my classmates" during your recess was a good deterrent. Both of those are outlawed and you wonder why our schools have so many discipline issues. If my kids are bad in class, one is a terror, the teacher just call one of us, usually the wife who is at home, would have to come picked them up, get written up and if it happens too many times, they can kick you out then you have no choice but to go to public school for the rest of the year.

These are choices I make and the liberals even want to take that away, parenting. Why do they want to infringe on my life I have no idea? They make me despise them even more. Let me think my way, if I don't like your life style, tough schit. You want to punish me because I don't want to be program, we will fight. Me being black is not that I am black. Too many blacks are programmed to accept the governments' "free stuff" program and it is like crack to them. My other IT person, the hardware tech made a comment this morning. We have a black warehouse/janitor that comes by and he told her that we are the only two that actually say anything to him. I told her we had a talk about other blacks that "used" to work here. He told his friends about the good pay and bennies for dropouts (as long you don't have a felony record for theft) and he brought them to us. Most of them didn't survive a month. He told me, they say it is better to sit at home to drink and smoke pot than to be under surveillance for being drunk or high and that government welfare and ACA is not bad when you can have the former.

Now ain't that a bitch.

Dude, I don't know how to say this other than we're having 2 parallel conversations that occasionally intersect briefly. We are saying many of the same things, but it seems to me most of the areas where we disagree somewhat are apples and oranges. What I'm saying you're responding to something else, and vice versa. Unions have had a LOT of effect on American jobs and American workers over the decades, quite a bit of it good, a WHOLE LOT of it bad, but in both cases their influence transcends just the companies that have unions. If you think management and ownership pays anyone outside their little inner circle a real living wage out of the goodness of their hearts then I doubt we'll ever come to an consensus.

Our government is supposed to have checks and balances to keep one branch from running roughshod over the other two, the economy is the same way. Unions have their place, just like ownership has theirs. When unions get drunk on their own power and the money they sometimes pilfer you can see that right? You want something done about that, right? What about when ownership fires people who have worked for that company for 20, 30, 40 years and just when they're starting to make a living wage and almost have their retirement worked out they get the pink slip and a nice, "we'll miss you but hey it's nothing personal, it's just business". Then they don't have a job and guess what, they find out that's not even the end of it, the company files for bankruptcy and/or moves to BFE and somehow manages to keep most if not all those people's pension money, because "those unions are just too damn greedy and we had to at least pretend to make a deal with them or we'd have had to shut down years ago". Then while the people who worked there for so many years are trying to piece their lives and hopes and dreams back together the news comes that the CEO and sometimes other members of upper management have a golden parachute they can ride to their next big gig that is an iron clad contract that can't be backed out of now matter how greedy the unions are and it seems like nobody who wasn't directly screwed by this scenario even cares, including half of this board. And if anyone ever talks about putting some controls on the other end of this thing all you hear is how high corporate taxes are (even though few of them even pay those) and then after hungrily accepting perks form local government, state government, etc., and using these loopholes to get out of paying most of what is left they talk about bolting for Ireland or BFE or some other place where they can be treated fairly and that there's nothing that can be done about them, after all it's THEIR money.

It's literally no wonder to me that this country is going straight to hell. If I wasn't living here too I'd probably say good riddance.

No that's not an opinion. That's ignoring facts and history. It would be like someone saying the Holocaust didn't happen and saying "it's OK it's just his opinion, it is Yes I know I'm going borderline Godwin here, but I had to pick something big that obviously happened, but stupid people still don't believe happened.

If Kennedy believed in 6 day creation in 2015 I would call him an idiot too. I can tolerate many things. If you believe in a young earth and 6 day creation (please Bedell, don't come in here talking about God days vs man days or anything like that, that's not what 6 day creationists are talkign about) I cannot take you seriously as a person. You lack even the basic amount of common sense. We live today in a world where we can do so much, and they want to take an ancient book of mythological tales as the truth. **** that, I'll call him an idiot, and I'll feel justified in doing so because there's no way you can be raised in the 20th century, live in the 21st century and believe that sincerely and not be dumb.
