2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

I'm confused by your suggestion... should banks give out money for free?

they get it for free or should i say less than a percentage point from the gov't when they rig the markets

so, yeah, most likely they should

but on a different note

**** banks

pretty sure I never said 0%. Reading Sen Sanders he never said 0%. Re read gold -- he never said 0%.
No one but you brought up un limited amounts of money

Which guys ?

gotta look out t for those banks !

That's your response to a logical reason why student loan rates are higher than home mortgage rates? Who said anything about "looking out for those banks?" It's a matter of basic reasoning, not anything sinister, no matter how much Bernie and the far left may not like it. *shrugs*

The man has no understanding of even the most basic economic principals

I guess I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and just say he's an idealist, but if he really doesn't understand, I think his quotes are much scarier than Ben Carson's pyramid theories or any of the other GOP lines that folks have had a field day with.

Agreed... his quotes actually matter in the every day lives of Americans.

The left is just as crazy as the right... but their crazy actually affects people in a material way

Actually he did. He answered my question directly. And he's nuts, just like you. Sanders is a crackpot

Bernie may be talking bringing back something like the National Student Defense Loan program which Baby Boomers like myself benefitted from greatly. I didn't have to borrow a lot, but my interest rate was 3% (and the passbook savings rate in the 1970s was between 4% and 5%). It's probably more about the move to turn the student loan business over to the private sector as opposed to anything else. Of course, you can only spend a dollar once and dollars spent on the government taking over the student loan business and ensuring low rates for borrowers costs money and politicians of all stripes have a laundry list of desires that appear not to include lowering student loan rates.

Interesting... so people should be able to borrow unlimited amounts of money at 0% interest.

You guys have lost your minds

Is that what I said?

Or was my comment saying that the banks do that, so why shouldn't people?

Tried to find a Sen Sanders quote on 0% and got sidetracked.
IF someone has it I'd be glad to read and see the context where he might have something to that effect.

Sanders record as a Mayor,Congressman and Senator belies any notion of ever holding that carrot as a policy initiative.
He is pragmatic if nothing else. He understands well that any notion of handing out money is a non starter -- but hey it's fun to kick around neo con web sites where the rubes eat that **** up.
Again, when someone sees something like this it would behoove the reader to, scratch the surface.

This is a pretty long read and will involve a little more attention span than "Sanders wants to give money away" or "Make America Great Again"

Here goes:

Nevertheless, some have questioned how taking on extensive debt early in life has affected young workers’ post-schooling economic activity.

At the time, Warren said she was “surprised” to learn that taxpayer-backed money meant to boost homeownership had instead been subsidizing Sallie Mae, the nation’s largest private student lender.

Well, I had the privilege of being graced with the Donald's presence yesterday, covering him for my newspaper. Called us in the media liars and crooks. Then his political director would not let any of us leave the media station until he had exited the building.

Kind of odd for someone who likes to talk about himself.

That said, I've never been booed by 3,000 people, but it was kind of cool.

Right out of the Jesse Ventura playbook.

I love how you're trying to turn this around as if you're "right" because Sanders never said 0%. I never said he did. You're trying to deflect and it's pathetic.

The statement was that Sanders doesn't seem to understand why housing loans are less expensive than student loans. He's an idiot.

"I never said he did. You're trying to deflect "

well, did he or didn't he ?

... a Christmas turkey

Why does the right think they can make up whatever quotes or numbers than feign disgust when proven to be liars.

If anything about the 21st century puzzles me it is that. From WMD to videos to ACORN to Mexican rapists to something as meaningless as Sturg putting quotes in Sen Sanders mouth.

Hilarious coming from the guy who posts memes with completely ludicrous numbers.

Goldfly made a comment and I asked him directly if banks should lend money for free, to which gold fly responded with "yeah they should"

I never said Sanders said 0%. You're insistence on that tells me you recognize that his tweet shows his lack of understanding of basic economics. And you're original question after I posted the tweet showed me that you lack that same understanding.

My issue with Sanders was that he has no understanding of elementary economic principals. Then you and gold fly came in to start blasting the banks which is what led to the 0% comment. Quit trying to deflect. Just admit you know nothing and move on

No one ever said 0 % ... save you.

Is that correct ?

I give up. The point of me asking about 0% was just to see how ****ing crazy you lefties are.. and sure enough, Goldy said that banks should lend at 0%.

Back to the original point... Bernie Sanders doesn't understand what most 6th graders understand.

oh, now I get it.

0% interest and Obama wants to take ALL the guns.
Sanders wants to make college free NSA.
They sell baby parts

Which is why something simple as mandatory background checks doesn't get the time of day.
Or we wind up with a watered down health care reform .

To even where we can have a civil conversation on how we deal with abortion

No one advocated 0 % so why bring it up ? Sanders spoke of going from 6-10% to 3-4%
That is the conversation we need to have.

OK... let's have that conversation... isn't it frightening that a serious presidential candidate can't understand the difference between a housing loan and a student loan?
