Here is a meme for 57

it's almost like the situation has evolved into something different than when he was in Congress

I'm fully convinced Trump isn't a racist but playing to the "heart and soul" of the base just to keep his poll numbers high.

He's doing a great job of getting the GOP to expose itself or the terrible elements of the party. Because now just as I expected the crazy things Trump says pulls the candidates farther right and a sensible guy like Kasich or Jeb looks too moderate. Christie I thought would be viable now he's just full neo-con now. It's hilarious to see his transformation. Rubio and Cruz are killing each other over immigration which the heart of the base is against. Now you have trump playing the doubt card of Cruz's eligibility. And lol Carson is basically Tom Hanks from Cast Away talking to himself at this point and nobody is paying attention and wonders why he is still in the race.

All of the frontrunner are calling for more war and I'm convinced fox kicked Rand off to eliminate the once-in-a-while voice of reason pointing out conservative hypocrisy on defense spending and foreign policy. Christie calling for more patriot act would have been ideal for Rand to call it out.

Neo-con Rubio must have given Cheney a semi-heart attack and a huge boner from all that war mongering.

couldn't watch or follow. Any talk of how the candidates would deal with the man made disaster in Flint, Michigan?

It was a really good debate. It felt like three heavy weights going at it in Rubio, Trump and Cruz. All three got some upper cuts in against each other. I think Jeb and Christie had good nights as well. Bush really exposed Trump's view in regards to banning Muslims as dumb and extremist. Carson was a little bit all over the place and Kasich keeps going back to his resume. Folks don't really care much about resume otherwise Obama would have been nowhere near the White House.

I thought the debate was a clown show last night... These guys sounded like complete idiots when they started talking about trade and China. I never heard anyone talk about a reduction in spending. If Trump believes tariffing Chinese goods is the answer to our trade imbalance, he's on a Bernie level of economic understanding

Yeah, I thought Rubio won that part of the debate vs. Trump. Not sure if that will really stick in the voters minds though.

The GOP in general has become so fascistic... Without Rand up there it was painful to watch. Anti free-trade. Military military military. Spend spend spend. Bring back domestic spying programs. Force private companies to spy.

It was scary to watch

As a republican you have to talk tough on foreign policy to win the nomination. Rand is struggling partly because of that. But one of the reasons I like Cruz is because he's come out strongly against reviving NSA widespread surveillance and is against boots on the ground. He seems to have a good balance of strong rhetoric and relative pacifism.

Trump has said something similar, but Lord knows what that guy is going to do if he wins the White House. And I think Trump was the only one who supported the tarrif.

I don't see the point in defending them. They are insane.

The country is ****ed

Isolationism and neutrality was argued as the sane courses of action after WWI. Look what that led to. It's easy to sit at home on the internet and grump about any bit of interventionism and say anyone who doesn't agree is insane, when you don't really have any modern day examples since WW II of failed isolationist policies.

I personally think the most sane position is a middle ground which Cruz seems to support.

Can't believe I'm saying this but it looks like Trump. He hammered Cruz in that debate and Cruz now has problems of his own. The GOP has no answer. Time for them to hold their noses and fall in line, just like they did with Romney.

Trump is now going after Cruz pretty aggressively on his undisclosed loans. Either he (Trump) is worried about a Cruz ascent in Iowa, or his people see blood in the water and think a knock-out blow can be delivered.

I think it's a bit of both. Cruz's ascendency is his biggest threat since Carson's ascendency. Unlike Carson though, Cruz isn't a 100% certifiable liability. Carson was a sentence away from saying something dumb. Cruz isn't that big of a liability.

Cruz has always been shoddy. He's been creepy always but never had a scandal like the undisclosed loans. Now his superman aura is fading and you can see him breaking down. The New York values thing only makes him look more IIke a jackass considering all the transplants throughout the country in other states he's looking to contend in.
