I think he would have been a better Pres than 43 if he got there.

Speaks more about the party itself that Cruz, Trump, and Rubio are leading.
 
Man, a year ago today Jeb was THE frontrunner.

Crazy that Trash Talk Trump brought Jeb down so far.

Rubio is THE last hope for the establishment, but Rubio himself like Cruz is a tea party son. The last 3 standing are insane.

If I had to assign an ideology to myself, I've always aligned most closely with the nearly extinct northeastern moderate Republicans. These religious zealots and other obtuse people have ruined the party. Trump and Cruz are scary and their supporters are worse.

Why you can never try to predict early. In 2006 and early 2007, everyone said it would be Rudy v. Hillary. Obama was seen as someone who would wait until 2016 to run.

Not me.

I had a strong feeling Obama would run in 2008 after his 2004 DNC speech. I watched that speech live and all the commentators were saying they just witnessed the introduction of the first black President.

I thought he might as well, but the conventional wisdom was Rudy v. Hillary.
 
I think Trump has formed an alliance with Carson.

Carson steals votes from Cruz the most. Carson staying in means Cruz and Rubio continue cannibalism on each other.

Yeah, ditto. Watched that speech with the wife and both of us said, "yeah, that's the guy."

But yeah, I think his point stands. Early predictions are useless. I though Bush was a prohibitive favorite, not just for the nomination, but for the brass ring itself.
 
I never bought the Jeb hype. There's just no way in hell the party nor country would elect ANOTHER Bush family member just 7 years after Dubya's reign.
