2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

What a joke of a system - CO for the Rs and WY for the Ds. Bernie, you might as well just stop. It doesn't matter when you win - you still lose.

Watch this video of Ben Swan explaining the Republican system... it's only few min. It'll make you sick

So for instance, David Petraeus got charged because he showed top secret documents to his mistress (and then lied to the FBI about it). But there’s no evidence that Clinton did anything even remotely similar. That’s why, when Politico’s Josh Gerstein examined prior cases similar to this one, he concluded that an indictment is highly unlikely. As Gestein writes:

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

And down where the conservative rank and file get their information — the talk radio rants, the right-wing blogs, the breathless chain emails — these two contradictory ideas are both widely circulated. Clinton is about to be indicted, and Clinton won’t be indicted because the fix is in. The assumption in either case is that of course she committed crimes, even if no one can say exactly what they were. Because she’s Hillary Clinton, right? What more do you need to know?

Morning Joe goes off on the rigged system of the democratic party nominating process... Felt like he was debating 57 there for a min. I hate Bernie but man do I agree with this

Ted Cruz should obviously be the republican choice for president in this environment. He's actually the perfect compromise candidate. He's very few person's first choice, but I think every segment of the republican party finds a palatable reason to support him. Milo puts it perfect when he describes Cruz as having a bit of lizard in him. But logically Milo should support Cruz because Cruz is anti-establishment and imo Cruz trolled the **** out of the republican party. And then there are the #neverTrump supporters who will pull the trigger for Cruz even though a lot of them don't like Cruz.

I think the issue is in states where there have combined caucuses and primaries. There has been a push for primaries on both sides of the political ledger to increase participation because the caucus system can become a bit tedious (and Lord knows we wouldn't want people to devote a whole night to political participation even in the era of the DVR) and it is the realm of insiders. States should either have pure caucus or pure primary systems to choose their delegates. When you mix them together, you get all these contradictory rules that allow the insiders to continue to tilt the system.

I have nothing against superdelegates. I think we can argue about how many there should be and there are probably too many right now for the Democrats, but take it from me, there needs to be a gyroscope in the system and a measure of superdelegates can help keep the car on the road.

Listening to Heidi Cruz for the first time and she's... totally not what I expected. If Ted could talk like her he'd probably win. But unfortunately Ted talks like the evil pastor in every horror film featuring a murdering overzealous religious person.

This headline from Ben Shapiro is perfect in regards to Colorado:

Trump Whines About Being Cheated. He Was Only Cheated By His Very Good Brain And The Very Best People.

Not to invoke a sports analogy, but Trump has been swinging for the fences with lousy plate discipline. Delegate-gathering often equates to small ball.

NYT: An enormous, enthusiastic crowd greeted Bernie Sanders on Wednesday in NYC's Washington Square Park.

And creepier.

I think what makes Cruz one of the creepiest pols I've ever seen is that he's so transparent that people can see that his id is on overdrive. That, and he's clumsy in the dirty trick department. If he is the general election candidate for the Rs, it will be interesting to see if, and how, he pivots to the vast middle that both sides need to win.

As for Sanders, there has always been a segment of the left that subscribes to the Sanders' schtick chapter and verse. Believe me. I've been elbow-to-elbow with them. Add to that the fact that left-leaners below the age of 40 want nothing to do with Hillary (for a variety of reasons) and I can accept the Sanders phenomenon on an intellectual level. I'm just surprised that a cranky old socialist (and that is what he is) became the bearer of the anti-Hillary banner.
