2016 Trade Deadline Rumors and Moves

You just look for things to pick at. Is it really that frustrating in your life?

All I heard from people here and in the front office was how the Braves were going to be a quality team that could be competing this season. It pains you because this quite obviously is and never was the case. You are the one that has trouble with your life because it seems a baseball team essentially runs it.

Swanson got a day off. That obviously led to immediate speculation that he was being pulled for a trade. Awww, damn! The Mets already got Lucroy...and Swanson had a scheduled day off. Back to the Twitter feeds!

I never said we would be competitive this year so I'm not sure what that has to do with me. I think if done right we can start to somewhat compete next year. If we are smart... Your life is apparently berating everyone on a message board for a team you don't even like anymore. Let that sink in

Except the Mets haven't gotten him

They inquired about him probably once, and that was last year. The speculation never subsided. The org obviously moved on, but the OCD kids here did not.

Except there were reports as recently as this week that we had interest in him. I was never in the camp that wanted to trade for him this year, but it isn't like someone on this site just fabricated this story.

DOB said they inquired this year too so stop being Niners lite

Not sure why you keep grouping me with him? My outlook is generally positive about their intended future. As for rumors posts, so what? Just because a couple of scribes linked to MLBTR, you have to react on a message board and play fantasy league every for months on end? Another alternative is to read the rumors, then take each with a grain of salt.

Most people do... Haven't heard one person say that they actually think we are getting Lucroy but the way you make it sound is that the whole board says its happening. People can discuss hypotheticals. I'm sure you've discussed trades that sounded dumb to quite a few people that would never happen. At least with Lucroy we know there have been discussions. Just don't understand why this one weird thing makes you so irritated.

Looks like the Indians are giving up LHP Justus Sheffield (#69 on BA's mid-season list), C Francisco Mejia (#70), SS Yu-Cheng Chang and OF Greg Allen.

If this is correct they are holding on to their higher rated prospects: Clint Frazier (#22 on BA's list), Bradley Zimmer (#26), Brady Aiken (#59) and Bobby Bradley (#64).

Even so, I think this is a pretty stiff price for Lucroy. Brewers did well. It would be like us giving up Newcomb and Allard, and a couple other decent prospects.

He's really fallen off the last two years. I guess we'd be buying low. Similar to Norris.

At least Norris is consistently good at framing, and is likely to continue to be good. Even if his offense doesn't rebound he at least brings something positive to the table.

Gomes has literally been good at nothing.

My top 2 choices for catcher are Norris and Castro, all depending on acquisition cost.

Decent deal for bothsides. Indians imorove a terrible spot.
