2017 #1 Pick watch!

This is why we should have kept Fredi. The guy was a team player and was helping us go towards the #1 pick. Snitker is managing to win now, Fredi was managing to win later.

Yeah, but the way Snitker blows through our bullpen we are going to have 3 live arms left down there come August. I don't know if I have ever seen a mgr use so many 1/3 an inning appearances in one game. Hell, LaRussa didn't even burn through it that much!

I know Snitker is going for the win now approach....however, his bullpen management, bench management, and the look of his general understanding of the game leaves a lot to be desired. We have now had 2 games under his management where we have run out of players in the pen and on the bench by the time the 9th inning ended.....its almost like all star game management where you try to play everyone

I have faith in the Padres in falling into the depths of despair. They have been shut out more than anyone else in baseball. Braves, Reds, Twins should all improve greatly in the second half as young players get acclimated. Phillies also have major suckage potential.

Ever since this thread was created we've been winning to much. I was all in for the #1 pick and this is messing with that.

Hunter Greene from Notre Dame HS in California is a player that is emerging as a potential 1-1 candidate for 2017. At the PG National event this weekend, Hunter was hitting 97 off the mound and hitting 500 foot home runs with the bat. He's a 6'4", 195 lbs RHP/SS prospect who is extremely athletic.

His biggest competition from the high school level may be Kentucky HS prospect Jordan Adell.

Watching video of Hunter Greene.

WOW!

The arm action, the way the fastball pops, his athleticism. He's definitely going to be in the mix to be the 1-1 pick next year.

updated as of 6/27/16 even after our nice streak of wins, we are still only 2 games out of the worst record in baseball. seems like most teams with the bottom 10 records won some games this week
