It still feels like the Reds are our biggest threat. And should be an even bigger threat when they deal guys. That pitching staff is a mess.

I think we'll deal Viz, i dont see Julio dealt unless Coppy gets a haul.

I think the Red Sox or another team will step up and meet what he wants.

really? I mean, I would love to end up with Moncada and some pieces for him, but IDK if they are gonna go that route. I tend to think they are gonna go more Rich Hill shopping.

They have Price and then a bunch of ?'s. They have the money, they have the prospects, and they have the drive to win so yeah I think they'll give in and give up Moncada. He's a prospect and their MLB team is really good outside of their SP. Rich Hill is decent but with Teherans contract he's easily their best choice.

If the A's trade Sonny Gray, they might be in the hunt as well. Phillies don't seem to be collapsing the way I thought they would and they probably won't sell at the deadline (not much to sell), so they'll maintain.

Given how bad Gray has been this year, I'm not sure how losing him will actually make them worse. Dude has a 5.4 ERA.

Anyway, I think the Reds are definitely the dark horse favorites here, that pitching staff is horrid.

You're right. Call me a traditionalist, but I'm always skeptical of the durability of short power pitchers and maybe Gray will contribute to that skepticism.

The history of those types of pitchers definitely has more arm issues and flame outs than long term success. And even a number of the true successes had arm issues on and off, like Pedro.
