2017 #1 Pick watch!

It will be a race to the finish, but I agree with those who think the Reds will end up at #1. Terrible pitching and they have some trade pieces that will likely be moved that will weaken their offense. But don't worry, I fully expect us to be in the running.

I have a feeling by September, we will be a team lots of teams don't want to face that are in pennant races. Our pitching is getting nasty looking.

I think we will most likely end up picking 3 or 4. The Reds and Twins should finish lower than us, and the Rays may finish worse as well.

I think the Twins stay ahead of us. Rays/Reds/Zona are my fear factor..

Twins' offense is coming alive and they do have some decent bats. Twins are shopping Santana, however, and their bullpen is absolutely terrible. They may also be shopping Dozier and Plouffe, so their offense might take a bit of a hit, but they have been playing a lot better recently.

I think any team could jump up as a favorite after trades. I am just speaking in today terms. If the Braves dump Viz/JT/Ender/Neck and ..... then we will most certainly be worse..

Zona will be interesting watch. they could try to keep core together and make a run next year, hoping Miller figures it out.. or they could start to sell off guys and hope they get what the Friars got and save some face on a horrible offseason decision.

It will be interesting to see if LaRussa and Stewart reverse course. They seemed pretty proud of going against the grain.

We're going to get a good idea about our chances for the top pick over the next few weeks. The first 16 games out of the break are against the Rockies, Reds, Twins and Phillies. Yikes.

Snit better know whats up and get us that numero uno or he is out on the first marta train out of Turner and it won't be going to Suntrust. Thats for sure...

whoa nellie!

hopefully they can no better than 7-9 or 8-8 during that stretch. I can easily see this team losing 3 of 4 or all 4 at Coors. Even the better Braves teams have lost series there versus worse Rockies teams.

The August schedule is brutal, so hopefully Atlanta doesn't fare too well against these patsies at the end of July.

August features:
3 vs. PIT
3 at STL
4 at MIL
4 at WSH; 3 vs WSH
2 vs. MIN
4 at ARI
3 at SF
2 vs. SD

Depending on who is on the team at that point, it could be realistic to say that Atlanta wins less than 8 games out of 29 in the stretch.
