2017 Opening Day Roster Taking Shape

Bowman now reporting that Snitker is leaning towards a 7-man bullpen to start the season. If that were the case, only one of Roe or Hernandez would make the club. He also speculates that we could go with a third catcher for the bench... hmmm...

#Braves released 1B Balbino Fuenmayor today, I'm told. No spot for him. Career .304/.333/.433 hitter in AAA.

Man, I don't know if I can stand the thought of not having both of those guys on the team.

So Smily is out for 6-8 weeks. Looks like we may have avoided a disaster.

No comment on this? How much of a bashing would Coppy have taken if he flipped Mallex for Smily? A guy who has consistently had injury issues. Instead he got a top 100 prospect on the way up. Genius!!!!!

Yea, but he won't make it to us via waivers as some AL team will claim him first. My guess is he's traded instead to who makes the best offer.

Agree. Always difficult to tell with all the 40-man rosters in flux, but I don't think he makes it past the AL or the Reds.

You know who oddly makes sense for a fourth outfielder but has zero chance of ever happening.

Ol' Melvin Upton Jr.

That Max dude got traded?

I'd pick up at least two of Franklin, Aneury Tavarez or Pagan. Drop d'Arnaud and go with 7 man bullpen and you can add two.
