That sounds like Miami might be trying to make Prado seem more desirable by starting rumors about his former team being interested. I see no reason to trade for Prado when we have Camargo.
 
I think a Prado trade could happen. If we trade Markakis we're going to need a defacto team leader. He was a 3 win player in 2015 and 2016 before being injured for 2017. He's signed fror 2 more seasons which should be Riley's timeline if we're really planning on keeping him a spot open. He could play LF, RF, 2B, and 1B as well over the next 2 seasons if the need arises for him to do so.

The main reason to trade for Prado would be that we're getting something else in return for taking on his contract which seems to have been something AA has done in the past.

Maybe they're desperate - Teheran alone probably doesn't do it, but could Julio and Vizcaino get you Lewis and a wildcard like Anthony Jimenez maybe?

Unless the Braves are incentivized to take Prado through the inclusion of a more useful/valuable player from the Marlins.

Agreed. Taking Prado as a salary dump doesn’t make a whole lot of sense unless he’s part of a larger deal.
 
If we do make a trade with the fish, I'm assuming Jason Pare will be involved. I'm hoping AA is asking him about any diamonds in the rough he's bullish on.

I'm guessing we all learned that no winter leagues are much of an indicator of future production following Gattis' blowup a few years ago - he turned into what most saw to begin with.
 
Phils about to sign Neshek for 2/17. He was #2 on my list of best BP options. My #1, Morrow, has also already signed with the Cubs.

Looks like the Braves will be bargain hunting for the BP.
 
Love hearing this from AA regarding focus on improving defense. Kemp and Markakis' future as Braves very much in doubt.
