2018 can't get here fast enough

Danville Rookie
I know it has been a generally bad season for the MLB team, but it is ending exactly like I had hoped..

Julio - showing signs of getting back on track (although I would not mind him being traded)
Folty - last 2 starts look like he is coming back down to earth (he is what he is)
Newcomb - taking some knocks but starting to settle in (I think kind of a Folty clone)
Sims - not great but better than I thought
Fried - getting chance to start this month
Gohara - Looked great this year and likely to get shot next spring
Lower minors propsects likely not ready but WOW - (Allard, Soroka, Wentz, Wilson, Wright all having great years)

Ender - well being Ender
Albies - showing he is not over matched at the MLB (always gets better as he learns a level...so watch out)
Freeman - MVP once his wrist is healed
Kemp - not excited about him...but he is here anyway
Acuna - I always think Lion King - Acuna Matata...means no worries
Flowers/ Suzuki - hold onto both another year better than any other options at C
Carmargo / Ruiz - see if they can platoon and hit at MLB level
Swanson - looks to be coming around. can it last?

It may not be playoff contender yet, but a year of young guys is exciting. Now be patient for 2018 and watch out
for 2019.

I am going to start with Sept and keep on hoping.

When will you guys learn? Under the current regime the Braves aren't winning anything and probably won't even become relevant again. Fielding a good MLB isn't on the Braves agenda.

Can't see us affording Suzuki as a backup after his big year. Think they will give every opportunity for this new guy Tony Sanchez to win the job

Sims has been much better than Newcomb. Don't think I've really seen Newcomb coming around at all yet.

Sanchez fits the profile, as well. Back in 2009, he was the fourth overall selection by the Pirates, signed to a $2.5 M bonus and he played parts of three seasons in Pittsburgh.
That '09 draft: 1) Strasburg, 2) Dustin Ackley, 3) the enigmatic Donovan Tate, 4) Sanchez, 5) Matt Hobgood, 6) Zack Wheeler, 7) Mike Minor, 25) Mike Trout.

FYI: Tate is currently a walk-on quarterback for the University of Arizona

Not sure I agree on sims > Newcomb.

Sims...

K9 = 5.71

Bb9 = 2.34

Era = 4.41

FIP = 4.86

Newcomb...

K9 = 9.42

Bb9 = 5.33

Era = 4.31

FIP = 4.66

Newcomb has outperformed him at AAA this season also.
