2018: The Year Of The Venezuelan Trout

You were right that Acuna would be really really good. But it was a clear lapse in judgement to make a bet based on counting stats. If you would have made a .900+ OPS bet with Enscheff, he seriously may have taken that and you might have won.

most people just don’t take message board posting that seriously. most people.

When the clock strikes 0 on the season and Ronnie doesn't have 30/30, I will live up to my end of the bet.

Even though he was called up late and was injured for a month.

I will never post again.

Just quit going around and posting about it incessantly. Let the board enjoy these last 36 games you sub-6 foot nerd.

I personally hope you don't quit posting. Still, I wish no one would trade insults, on either side. Encheff provides some really good content and I love your enthusiasm. Insulting, gloating and mean-spirited comments from any side are superflous material that saddens me and does take away some from my enjoyment on the board.

A 30/30 bet with how the Braves can be at times running wise, with Acuna starting in the minor leagues, and with the possibility of injuries (although not fun to think about) with a guy that plays hard and is speedy wasn't really smart. There was better bets to be made. OPS, or even just doing prorated stats over 162 given what I listed out.

In the end there is one thing that all but one of us got wrong. Even the optimistic but not crazy folks didn't think Acuna would do this. I thought there was a good chance he'd be good and put up a prodigal like 20 year old rookie season (just not Trout like). I didn't see him having a shot at posting an, even if he cools off, .880-.900 OPS or higher. I thought that was going to be next year. Nope, it may be this year and if he continues this way with improving, next season might be MVP caliber even if he doesn't win it.

SJ24 is a very good man. You know its really sad what's going on. It's really sad. Am I looking into a pardon? We're looking at a lot of different things. If Acuna gets 30 but not 30 will I pardon him? I dont know we'll see. But what I can tell you is this is a very sad situation. This has nothing to do with collusion. This has nothing to do with me by the way. Absolutely nothing to do with collusion. This started with collusion and it's been a total witch hunt by Enscheff. Phony witch hunt. We're winning by lot right now and it's just really sad you know it really is. A lot of good people's lives are going to be ruined by these bets.

The worst part about Taylor being banned is that it's impossible for him to create a new user name.

I do think we may need a board ruling given that Acuna hasn't played a full season. I think it's a legitimate argument to state that sj24 meant that Acuna would have been a 30/30 guy given the right circumstances.Him being healthy all year and playing for a team that values the stolen base. That's what I took it to mean anyway. I just think we might need a vote on that one.

Look. There's been no collusion ok? That I can tell you. Will I pardon him? I don't know right now we're looking at a lot of different things so we'll see what happens.

He very clearly loses the bet based on the terms. But why on earth does anyone want to make the board smaller?

Fact of the matter is, Taylor was much more right about his projections for Acuna than the rest of us... Enscheff predicted 750 OPS and I agreed. Acuna obviously has crushed that projection. So nice prediction by the kid (who also was insane to bet on 30/30)... I mean, I'd never bet on anyone ever getting 30/30

Right now I'm leaning toward Taylor winning the bet. We'll see how September plays out, but I think it's reasonable to project that Acuna would be a 30/30 guy given reasonable circumstances. I mean, what kind of guy doesn't take all factors into account when looking at who should win a bet?

We don’t need a vote. Taylor doesn’t have to leave the board, and shouldn’t leave the board.

Is it weird that I highly respect your opinion largely because of your avatar? You make good points too, but your avatar gives you a huge advantage.

Were you the dissenting juror on the other 10 counts of the Manafartov trial?

The crazy thing right now is he's getting better.

K rate is plummeting. Down to 26.6%. Ronnie only has 10 strikeouts in his past 65 PA! That is only 15.3% over that time period!!!

The OPS has risen to .926!!!

Then you add the fact he's smashed 21 big boys and missed a month/was called up late.

The kid is 20!!!!
