2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

I think his previous start is the only one I’ve actually watched this year, and he certainly looked solid, if unspectacular. Also didn’t realize how salt-and-pepper his hair was: definitely a good, sagacious sign for a VeteranPresence—and I would know, since my beard now looks similar after a year of grad school.

he's definitely been a key member of the Council of Elders

LOL wow...

Braves Fan
3:58 Braves send to the Orioles Koby Allard Kyle Wright Christian Pache and Johan Carmago to the Orioles for Machado Trumbo and Givens who hangs up first?
Steve Adams
3:58 You're a Braves fan and you're OK sending that level of talent for a 2-3 month rental of Machado, Trumbo's negative-value contract and a reliever? (admittedly a good reliever)

No way Atlanta does that.

I just puked.

I know we all get onto each other, but at least we're not that much of a dumbass.

How bout a former Top prospect for former Top prospect swap?

Indians get:
Matt Wisler - RHP
Lucas Sims - RHP

Braves get:
Bradley Zimmer - OF

Pass.

Could care less if I ever see Wisler or Sims ever pitch in Atlanta again, but they're fine for depth as long as we can keep them on the Gwinnett To Atlanta Shuttle. Zimmer can keep swinging and missing elsewhere - we've got plenty of CFs that don't do that nearly as much. Can't steal 1B.

I think Wisler could still be useful. It wouldn't shock me if he became a decent fourth or fifth starter for someone.

Sims needs to be moved to a team that isn't in contention so they can run him out there in the hopes that he figures something out.

Not sure the best way to handle the deadline at this point isn't simply to stand pat - unless you can get Moose/Escobar for secondary prospects (at most).

Rotation upgrades are going to come with an overly inflated cost. Give Newk, Folty, Gohara, and Soroka their shot the rest of the way - you're contending a year early, and Pat Corbin is out there to spend your money on this winter if Riley is deemed the answer at 3B for 2019 and you still feel like you need a rotation upgrade.

Make the Top 15 prospects off-limits (the Pipeline Top 13 plus Waters and Contreras) - if DMGM wants to piece something together from the lower half for a package deal (Moose and Escobar), fine. If Texas wants to piece something together from the lower half for a package deal (Beltre and Hamels), fine. If Donaldson's back in 2 weeks (and is healthy) and there's a small enough cost they'll take for him, fine.

Otherwise, sit back and see where this goes - spend money without spending prospects this winter.

Standing pat would certainly be preferable to the moronic suggestion in Enscheff's post above. I still think a little pitching help and a mercenary 3B would be a good move if we can get a deal.

I dont think anyones saying pull a Teixera deal for anyone but if you can upgrade the pen and/or 3B and it doesnt cost anything extreme, it's worth doing.
