Only cost A's 17th and a non top 30 prospect and some international money for Familia, doesnt seem like much.
Other guy, Wahl, is a 26-year-old AAA pitcher who got a cup of coffee with Oakland in 2017.

Wahl is similar in value to Wisler. Maybe a little more. The equivalent to Toffey is Demeritte.
Familia is owed $3M the rest of the way. Britton is owed about $5M.
The A's are taking on all of the $3M. Plus they are sending $1M of international slot money to the Mets. $1M will get you a pretty good international prospect.
I will stick to my estimate that it would take Wisler and Ynoa (or some similar package) to get Britton, with the O's picking up about half the remaining salary.
I think it would cost more than that for Britton, he's the top RP on the market, and lot of teams could use him.
Kinda think AA shoots lower, but if I'm giving up an additional prospect I'd want a window to try to negotiate an extension with Britton to get a jump on this winter. Even if you don't get him now, aren't he and Doolittle your top targets this offseason? If you're a believer that Camargo and Riley can be the answer at 3B, maybe even go Rockies-nuts and add one of them AND Ottavino to try to build a "super pen" with Britton/Doolittle, Viz, Minter, Ottavino, Winkler, Biddle, Carle/Phillips, and Freeman.
Donaldson's price has to come down after another lost year, and if you could add he and Britton or Doolittle this team has to be mentioned as a legitimate contender next spring with a healthy Soroka and Gohara added to the rotation and Fried, Allard, Wright, and Touki percolating in Gwinnett.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Braves set their sites a little lower than Britton, but it’s great seeing them as legit buyers at the deadline.
Define legit. They’ve let two relievers go by them for basically nothing.
Britton is more money cost and a lefty and more teams are fixated on him.
Salas might be the best move the Braves make.
Can’t part with Rio Ruiz for rental.

Brad Hand, and Cimber were dealt for a borderline top 10 prospect.
Braves arent in position to be making moves like that.

Yeah this seems to have set the market for reliever rentals and it seems super affordable for us. I wasn't super high on a Britton deal because of the presumed cost, but Wisler and Ynoa or something along those lines would be fine with me. In the current market, I would honestly be fine with making a couple of trades for bullpen reinforcements if need be.
I do wonder what the market is right now for supplemental position players. I would love to make a deal for Escobar if the price was right. He is looking like he could provide us about 1.5 wins the rest of the season and is a free agent after this year. He could probably be had for the same approximate price as Britton, or maybe even lower.
Not to whom I’m referring. But I’m not sure who is in position to give up a “top 10” prospect for controllable mlb assets at the Braves position of greatest news if not the Braves.
