2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

Britton is more money cost and a lefty and more teams are fixated on him.

Salas might be the best move the Braves make.

Can’t part with Rio Ruiz for rental.

Guys like Ruiz, Wisler, Sims, Demeritte, Luke Jackson etc are more than expendable for a rental.

Doolittle isnt a free agent.

And Britton, Biddle, Freeman, Minter seems pretty excessive on the left side. I've brought up going Rockies this winter on the RP market.

I think its pretty clear right now that we need help in the lefty reliever department. Biddle and Freeman have reverse splits and Minter is a late inning high leverage guy. Adding Britton would at least allow us to use either him or Minter more liberally in lefty heavy situations.

This has got to be a joke right? I would trade Rio Ruiz for Britton so fast it would make your head spin, then I would probably have to call a doctor in 4 hours.

Agreed. While Rio showed moments of promise, they were just moments and it is obvious the Braves don't see him as anything more than emergency depth in AAA.

He is exactly the kind of guy you hope to trade for bullpen help.

Britton hasn't been better vs LH for a few years but I'd have no issues trading for him. It'd probably be like Rio Ruiz/Jeremy Walker, and I think that's fairly similar to Familia. Maybe not even Walker like.

"The market for Zach Britton includes virtually every top contender."

@Ken_Rosenthal on the Orioles' reliever

......

If the Braves end up in a bidding war over Britton, lol.

But let’s be real, they wouldn’t be dumb enough to totally miss the cheap reliever market and o repay for Britton. Right?

Come on folks - yes, it's a joke.

Wouldn't be surprised if AA is one of those poking around Archer though - Rosenthal just mentioned his market has heated up significantly.

Devil's in the details. Who do you propose offering for Britton.

Yeah obviously I don't want Britton if he is going to come at a significant markup. But given how saturated the reliever market currently is, I don't see the price going up that much. I kinda like your idea of going after Duke/Escobar with the Twins. I'd also like to see us make a run at Keone Kela if the price was right. He is young, cheap, reliable, and controlled through 2020. Price tag for him may be a tad higher though.

It would cost more than that for Britton

I'd probably go like Wisler, Luke Jackson, Demeritte and something else, but i dont know how high anyone else is going. I dont know if it costs a guy like Fried.

I doubt it costs that much. I'm with nsacpi that Britton isn't going to cost much more than Familia. I think a package of Wisler and Ynoa would get it done without Jackson or the something else part. Maybe the bidding war marks it up a little, but I don't think we will be giving away a top prospect like Fried.

I'm really fascinated by the idea of trading for a package in any deal we do. How would you guys feel about trying to get Britton and either Brach or Givens? If not them, what about a deal with the Rangers for Claudio and Kela? How much would those deals cost us and would it be worth the price tag?

That's a lot more than the Mets just got.

Wisler and ynoa should be done ASAP if that will get Britton. I like ynoa too, but Britton could really improve the braves
