2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

Bowman just mouthpieced an article downplaying the likelihood of the Braves making a significant addition.

Its safe to assume the upgrades will be marginal.

Surprised to not hear any talk about Chris Archer here. That was the story this AM on ATL sports talk radio.

There has been a lot of talk about him the last few years. But now might be the time we need to try to pull it off. Not sure what Tampa needs, but Allard, Fried, Wisler, and Sims would give them some nice minor league pitching depth. If they are really serious about some of our other players, I'd have to consider seeing how much they value Johan Camargo.

I think AA has to make a move for a high leverage reliever, just in case. Imagine how it might turn out if he doesn't. His manager might be stuck trying to use Winkler or Sam Freeman at closer in the game that puts us in or out of the playoffs.

It’s almost like AM sports radio doesn’t know what they are talking about, which is why they are doing AM sports radio.

This was FM. I was just glad that they stopped talking about Julio Jones long enough to talk a little baseball.

We absolutely have to add two relief arms, preferably one left handed and one right handed.

Forget us fans for a moment and what kind of message does it send to the players who have busted their tails all season for AA to not even make minor moves to the bullpen?!? I swear every hour that passes by in this next just less than a week seems like days.

I’d have to agree. The players haven earned some help and the fans have came out to support the team so it’s time to get some help in here to make a stretch run.

Interesting comments from Crasnick on Braves interest in Moose.

“The Braves’ interest in Mike Moustakas is minimal at best,” ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick writes in a tweet, following up on an earlier report which stated that Atlanta was looking at the Royals third baseman. Moustakas and the Braves have been linked in rumors even dating back to last offseason due to Atlanta’s lack of third base depth, though the team is reportedly satisfied with Johan Camargo at the hot corner. Interestingly, Crasnick notes that the Braves weren’t sure “how Moustakas would adapt to a bench role,” implying that the team would have platooned the duo at third base. Moustakas has long has problems against left-handed pitching, while the switch-hitting Camargo has crushed lefties (1.008 OPS in 156 PA) and struggled against righties (.701 OPS in 382 PA) in his brief Major League career.

Personally I want to stand pat. I dont view making the playoffs this year as a do or die kind of situation. I do think we can make the playoffs making any trades.

The NL is wide open. I will be pisssd if we do nothing. I'm not saying trade soroka, Pache, Riley, etc, but we have plenty of talent to upgrade the Atlanta team. AA can stop being stupid and take a rental. Who knows what will happen next year? If you keep playing for the future, it may never get here.
