2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

Spandberger and Wall are two nothings. Its the kind of small deal we need to make. Except for a situational lefty.

Wall is just a dude. Spandberger has been a riser. Someone I was surprised to see go for Oh. Rockies are relatively deep with lower level 1b prospects though.

Wall has actually played well for stretches before. Not going to knock anyone's socks off, but the kind of tweener with past success it never hurts to get as a throw-in.

That's all I'm asking for is bullpen help not some blockbuster. I didn't want Britton at that price and the former Mets closer is too combustible for my taste. I want a lefty and a righty but a lefty is a must regardless even if that's all we do, I'd settle for that at this point.

Soria to the Brewers.

The Braves must be involved with players who are not in the rumormill.

They are also getting some of his salary paid.

The Brewers gave up a 21 year old LHP in AA that is a FV 40, and a warm body 20 year old pitcher still in DOSL.

Needless to say, that's not a very steep price for a high leverage BP arm.

Perhaps AA ought to change gears and sell since he is having such difficulty obtaining very cheap bullpen options.

My only defense for him right now is that none of the LHPs they should be targeting have been traded yet.

Britton is too volatile to justify beating the package from the Yankees, and Hand was simply too expensive.

But yes, the dominoes are starting to fall, and AA needs to catch one.

My preditions on AA's moves:

1) Avilan for Wisler and Javier

2) Escobar for de la Cruz and Webb

I'm going to guess that if the Jays get Drury, they trade Solarte to Atlanta. That fits AA's somewhat odd desire to have a controllable player, and fills the "LHH utility platoon option" void on the roster. The return will be MLB-ready pitching...so I'm guessing Fried.

I have no idea which BP arm they get, but I'm guessing he throws LHed. To throw a name out there...Claudio.

Yeah. Solarte would cost more. Hopefully not Fried. I'd offer Wentz.

I'd prefer not to pay more for extra years of control over a platoon/utility player (because...what's the point?), but AA's comments make it seem like he is willing to do so.

I'd much prefer cheaper 2 month rentals to fill all the current holes on the roster. I could see a Drury acquisition leading to trading away Solarte though...and the Braves are the most logical suitor.

Sources: The Washington Nationals have started discussions with teams to gauge interest if they decide to sell. Of particular interest are Kelvin Herrera, Shawn Kelley and Ryan Madson, three free-agent-to-be relievers. Nats are telling teams they’ll know by end of weekend.
