2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

Explain to me why we want hamels. FIP over 5. Avg less than 6 ip per start

He's largely been affected by Arlington. He's been pretty boss on the road. Good overall peripherals as well. And most of all, the cost should be fairly low.

Hamels has good road numbers, no one pitches well in Texas, and the cost shouldnt be THAT much unless we tried to get a guy like Kela too.

I am in no way interested in Marcus Stroman...his pitching style is too close to Teheran and Sanchez.

He does remind me of Teheran for some reason, though his stuff is a good bit better now.

Just depends on the price for me.

If the Rangers can reduce Hamels cost next season to something like the Braves are paying McCarthy I wouldn’t mind that either depending on prospect cost.

Cubs moving close to a deal with Hamels, per one of their beat writers, oh well.

I'm glad. I'm personally not a huge believer in his ability at this point and definitely not enough of a believer to take on all that money this year and money/buyout next year.

Every time we've had a main team mentioned in these deals it's been that team, but I don't really care about losing Hamels.

If Beltre would be warm to it, it seems the Braves are probably going to get him. Lukewarm on waiving his 10/5 but it seems to be progressing.

I see no point in getting Beltre. Camargo is the better player at this point, and Beltre can only play one position. We need someone who can either platoon with Camargo and play another position, or someone who’s a legit upgrade over Camargo so we can move him to his rightful place as a super utility man.

Boo. I would have liked Hamels. I think he'll be a strong pitcher for Chicago in the 2nd half and in the playoffs.

Now give me Odorizzi.

freeman has been charged with earned runs in 9 of his last 20 appearances.

Well done, Alex.

So glad we kept wisler or someone similar instead of getting familia. AA is doing a bang up job... who needs reinforcements during this slide? Keeping flaherty is gonna pay off big time when he gets a hit in the next 25 or so ABs

You honestly think the Mets would have given us the same deal. I don’t. I don’t think they trade him to anyone in their division...just for spite (unless we pay more).

More than nothing? We've traded with the Mets before when they were trying to contend

I think it's safe to say that the Braves missed their window to improve the team this season. There is no one left that will make them better than the Phillies, without mortgaging the farm system.

The best Rumor I've read that won't happen is the Tigers are considering sending Nick Castellanos to Atlanta for Max Fried and Austin Riley. Castellanos is only 26, had 101 RBI last year and is under control through 2020, so naturally it won't be considered by our do-nothing-in-case-it's-wrong front office.
