2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

Stroman had an injury I believe and his peripherals are better than the actual. As he's gotten away from it he's been the same Stroman we've always seen...not just against the Braves.

I have him on my ESPN fantasy team and his velocity was off earlier in the year so they shut him down for about a month for shoulder fatigue (His ERA was 7.71). Since coming off of the DL in late June he has a 2.98 ERA and four quality starts in his last six outings. He'd have had another quality start with one more scoreless inning at Boston and he had one stinker vs. the Mets in Toronto. If you base it off production and innings pitched per outing he'd definitely be our best pitcher, he is being very underrated here!

Wasn't it a shoulder injury though? Shoulder injuries scare me a lot more than elbow injuries. I don't know anything about the severity I just seem to remember it being shoulder related. Still I love the thought of a healthy Stroman. The other thing that makes me a little nervous is that he's undersized. Seems like the shelf life of undersized pitchers is shorter but I have no data presently to back it up. Just a casual observance.

Apparently the Rangers have accepted our offer for Beltre and we're just waiting to see if Beltre waives his 10/5. Said on other forum, idk if there's a source. (There's not on twitter, so idk if the guy is right)

Don't mind it at all if he's happy to come here. Great mentor for the young players.

What other forum is this? Only active one I see is Braves nation

Beltre seemingly has no power left, maybe a change of scenery will give him one last power surge. At least he would be helpful to our young players off the field also.

Why would the A's do that? They're better than us

We would certainly have to make it worth it for them. They can cover his position (Lowrie can play 3rd), and they need help in some areas that we have depth. It could work for both teams.

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes a trade between contending teams makes sense. Not sure if this is one of the cases. What would the A's want from us. I know they would like some starting pitching. But with McCarthy and Soroka on the DL, I don't think we can spare any.

Something to remember about Beltre is that the deadline is no deadline for him. His salary is 18 million this year. No one is claiming him so he'd be able to be traded in August.
