2019 Braves vs Phillies Vs Nationals By the Records

Phillies season record: 24-19 (5-5 in last 10 games)

East: 15-9
Central: 3-4
West: 1-3
Interleague: 5-3

Braves season record: 23-21 1.5 GB (5-5 in last 10 games)

East: 7-6
Central: 6-3
West: 6-11
Interleague: 2-1

Last year we crushed the NL east while we got killed against the west. We continued our sucktitue vs the west but have fallen back, albeit in short sample size in the east. That is to be expected as the division is vastly improved.

However looking at the Phillies record a little more in depth, they have faced Washington and Miami a combined 15 times. On top of that, they have faced Detroit for 2 games, and Kansas City for 3 games. In those 20 games, they have a record of 12-8, while going 12-11 vs the Twins, Mets, Rockies, cardinals, and Brewers

Just thought it would be interesting to compare the two for strength of schedule

The Phillies record over the next few weeks is brutal. If Atlanta can take care of business this weekend, they should be in a really good spot.

If we don’t get bitch slapped by the Faillies like we did to start the season then We will be ok. We just need to beat them and we win the division. I think the faillies were built for a sprint not a marathon. As the season wears on them, I think the lack of depth will be crucial.

Phillies next 10 games: 3 vs Rockies, 4 @ Cubs, 3 @ Milwaukee

Braves next 10 games: 3 vs Milwaukee, 4 @ Giants, 3 @ St.Louis....after that stretch we get the nationals for 2, then 10 vs Pittsburgh/Miami (3 of those vs Miami)

Philly have had a MUCH easier schedule than the Braves have thus far.

Ours has been brutal minus minus Miami x2.

I think the series in Arizona was a turning point for us. Things could have gone south quickly but we pulled out some close games and had a little much needed luck.

Interesting that last year Arizona was also a key series, but late in the season.

I think these next two series are massive for us. We really need to take 2 of 3 vs the Brewers and the 3 of 4 or 4 of 4 from the Giants.

Taking 2 of 3 from the Brewers is a huge ask. They just took 3 of 4 from Philly and dominated them. I wouldn’t count on it, but be cautiously optimistic that it can happen.

We need to take the series vs the Giants though.

The tough part is Folty is pitching game three against the Brewers, so if we split the first two we've likely lost the series. The Brewers line-up is full of hitters that hit .333 up to .409 (Yelich in 22 AB's) vs Folty. Plus the Folty they'll be facing isn't the Folty of last year.

The same Cardinals team we just handled pretty easily in two of of three games swept the Dodgers in a four game series in early April so anything can happen.

Update as of 5/31

Phillies record is 33-23

Vs East : 15-9
Vs Central : 9-8
Vs West : 4-3
Vs AL : 5-3

Vs RHP : 27-15
Vs LHP : 6-8

Braves record is 30-26 (3 GB after terrible series vs WAS)

Vs East : 7-8
Vs Central : 10-5
Vs West : 11-12
Vs AL : 2-1

Vs RHP : 22-21
Vs LHP : 8-5

We have yet to play many games in our own division, however, we are collectively 0-5 vs the Phillies and gNats this year

Update as of 6/7:

Phillies overall record is 35-27

Vs east: 15-9
Vs central: 9-8
Vs west: 6-7
Vs AL: 5-3

29-16 vs RHP
6-11 vs LHP

4-6 in their last 10 games

Braves record so far 33-29 (2 GB), hold the second WC spot by .5 game

Vs east: 7-8
Vs central: 11-7
Vs west: 11-12
Vs AL: 4-2

22-24 vs RHP
11-5 vs LHP

Perhaps the Keuchel signing was to combat the Phillies domination of RHP and failure to hit LHP well.

Braves also 4-6 over their last 10 games. Let a few easy wins get away.

Braves had a stretch of 8 games vs the Tigers, Nats, and Pirates, while the Phillies had the Dodgers, Cards, and Padres, and we didnt even gain any ground.

Not good.
