My read is that it wouldn’t be particularly hard to convince Mets ownership to trade Syndergaard if baseball ops presented a good deal

Question:

If we have a ton of high end pitching talent....why would we consider trading our most promising pitching prospect of possibly the whole rebuild?

That doesn’t make much sense to me.

Pache in lf and waters in cf is interesting. Are we showing waters can man cf for trade?

I think they've alternated Waters and Pache in CF all year. Waters plays a very competent CF, but Pache is probably better than anyone in MLB out there.

Im not confident the Mets would even consider trading Thor within the division. There is an article on MLB Trade Rumors that mentions they won't even consider trading with the Yankees. Wow

The Yanks and Mets rarely trade with each other though. I can't think of one significant trade with each other in my liftetime.

This is more about the Yankees than Braves. Unless the Yankees put Torres on the table, cant see how they get him.

Because it would help us a lot this year and the next two years. Nobody wants to redo the Tex trade again, but we have a legitimate chance this year and should try and maximize that chance. Donaldson might not be back next year. Keuchel might not be back next year. We have an elite offense this year - who knows how we are next season

I agree. When you know you have a special group sometimes you have to push some chips in. Trading Anderson for Thor won’t shorten our window at all imo. With the nucleus we have in place and with everything else our farm has coming we will be in excellent shape for a long time. Thor is controllable for 2 more seasons and if he is still really good we could always extend him. If we can get Thor and Diaz for say Anderson, Wentz, Contreras and a filler piece I’d be all over it.

Soroka was our best pitching prospect of the rebuild.

.@Joelsherman1 suggests the #Mets are hesitant to deal Syndergaard or Diaz to teams like the #Yankees or #Astros because they're more advanced analytically, and they could "flourish" for those teams.

In other words, "Those teams are smarter than us."

Just quit baseball

Send John Schuerholz there to negotiate ASAP. If they still think we're dinosaurs like them then they'll basically give it away. JS could sell them on Riley, Wright, Demeritte all right now.

I don’t see that kind of difference maker on the market. There is no Sale available. Only #2’s that will have ACE asking prices because of demand.

Quintana comes to mind. Remember how sought after he was and what was given up to acquire him.he wasn’t an an ACE, but his asking price was.

It’s a no thanks for me. 5 years of Anderson plus 5 years of Pache or Waters on the cheap is worth way more than one to two years of a #2,#3 pitcher

Look...I’m not saying don’t trade anyone...I’m for trading just about anyone on the farm except the top 3. I would also be willing to even trade Riley, Incirate or Camargo. Just leave me Anderson, Pache and Waters and I’m good.
