I'd like to see us add a LH OF to platoon with Duvall. Shouldn't cost too much if you can find the right guy. I like the idea of keeping Joyce on the bench as a PH.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't look at Duvall as a dropoff from Markakis. He's performed well in an everyday role before, he's crushed in Gwinnett, and he's probably the second best defensive outfielder on the team after Inciarte. It's not a spot where I would spend much capital for a marginal player.

I like having a good lefty hitter off the bench though, which is why I think we should either add a Lucas Duda type or a LH platoon OF.

I love the Padres rebuild so much. That system is insane. Only real misstep so far was the Hosmer signing, but they are going to be really good in a hurry.
