proving again, (D) should beware of (R) advise on how to win elections.
The same people that gave us Donald Trump are opining on who (D) should
select as VP to defeat Trump

As someone who has grown to despise both major parties, the one thing I don't want above all else is the progressive wing of the Democratic party growing in power or popularity. A Trump win could spur them on, since they'll be able to point to two consecutive establishment candidates losing to Trump. Then in 4 years we're looking at a true progressive vs a PBTNL for the Republicans, which could go really south.

If Biden beats Trump and has Klobuchar as the VP, it keeps some clown from the Sanders/AOC/Warren wing of the party running until at least 2028. It would also give the Republicans 4 years to get their act together, wrestle the party away from Trump (I know you don't want this, but many do), and find a candidate to knock off an extremely beatable Biden in '24, assuming he isn't fully demented and removed before that point. That path looks a little more appetizing to me.

ultimately it is in all of our best interests to have a healthy two (or more) party system...dysfunctional parties (and unfortunately my old party is highly dysfunctional these days) are not good for the country...I have a theory (a condescending one but that's all I'm capable of) about what has happened the past ten years. There has always been a significant number of crazies out there. But for a long time about half of them have been in each party. What has happened is they have all migrated to one party and now the country is like a plane trying to fly on one engine.

ever heard the old joke, how do you keep an asshole in suspense ? ..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Seriously why would say that and why do you think it has gotten so ?

I used to mock centrists and moderates...I've kind of done a 180 and resigned myself to rooting for them to win back both parties...I'm looking at the landscape and not seeing a short-term path for anyone with my ideological leanings to win a major election, so rooting for centrists appears to be the best of a bunch of underwhelming options. At least they're predictable in their mediocrity.

depends what you call a moderate. To my mind the political landscape has moved so far to the right over the years that what used to be a moderate is what one thinks of describing Sanders or AOC.
In the 1940's,50's or 60's their policies were the main stream.

Eisenhower would now be considered a left wing bomb thrower. A Socialist by today's standards

I don't view Ronald Reagan in any way shape or form a moderate.
In today's world that is what passes for middle of the road.
To me that is unacceptable

Curious how you ace and you nsa view Reagan. How he and his policies would fit in today's world.
Bear in mind that the open air treaty Trump tore up yesterday was negotiated during the Reagan administration

In the early 1970's Nixon and Ted Kennedy were negotiating what would later be called M4A. Nixon proposed a bill far to the left of ObamaCare
Kennedy turned it down. Subsequently, Nixon had other things on his

I think it was all about race and Civil Rights that turned our politics on its ear.
From '65 on

i really don't get the end game of pointing out any and everything trump have in common

like "see, your guy sucks too. you should not vote so we can keep my worse guy in power"

lol

"UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
v.
FRED C. TRUMP, DONALD TRUMP AND TRUMP MANAGEMENT INC. "

is there one of these cases in bidens past?

I dont care if he uses the N word every sentence the policies he has championed have devastated black communities. If he was running as a Republican he would be the most right wing candidate in terms of "tough on crime".

To each his own.

Trumps policies have been wonderful for the country and the hate that people accuse trump of is what rests inside of liberals but it was acceptable to express it because the media didn't cover it.

Which part has been great. The 100k dead or the 38 million unemployed. Did you see that great Barves game last night? Oh wait we cant have sports because captain bonespurs is incompetent.

Jo Jorgensen wins the Libertarian nomination for president. If nothing else, women will have a chance to vote for a woman, rather than two guys accused of sexually assaulting women.

It was a hot summer. And the dress code was relaxed to allow for shorts. I have these amazing calves. Many people have said so. Many very important people. Many. But Jo went a bit beyond that....it has taken me a long time to process what happened that summer...I still find it difficult to think back in it...but now that Jo is a presidential candidate I feel compelled to come forward
