Progressives hate him because they are fully aware a majority of the democrats will not vote for the leftist candidate if there is someone other than Trump is on the ballot. In some of Pews most recent polling they found a majority of democrats wanted the party to shift more to the right. What is the progressives response? 70+% tax rates, infanticide and taking everyones car away from them.

Agreed 100%.

People mock the 'MAGA' crowd because its representative of anywhere from 35-40% of the country. That is a tremendous number but the fact we have no options on the ballot its barely enough to squeak out a victory. Of course if there was more diversity the MAGA crowd would dwindle as well but in my opinion it would still represent a significant portion in comparison to other voting blocs.

There was a good Reddit thread yesterday about how and why the right has more or less a singular voice while the left is so disorganized and they have no true spokes people. . Wish I could pull it up.

The Democrats just had to not be crazy and not push communism.

They couldn't even do that. Its a shame that Trump has done so many stupid things with his rhetoric (his actual policy is far more sound) or else 2020 would be an absolutely landslide. Polling of Democrats show they want to become more moderate. The party leaders are doing the exact opposite.
 
These democrats dont stand for anything. Its a race to the left. Nothing they stood for 10 years ago stands today.
