2020 Field

I never presented a number.
If you dont know say you dont know or dont weigh in

No - That is not how this works.

Your 'side' proposed a plan. It was evaluated as being absurdly expensive. Your retort is, 'Well look at what we are spending now'. The onus is on you to determine that number. If you don't know what that number is then don't keep using it as a defense for an indefensible plan.

Took your advise and googled "what does USA spend in health care in one year"
to learn

https://fortune.com/2019/02/21/us-health-care-costs-2/

A new analysis from U.S. federal government actuaries say that Americans spent $3.65 trillion on health care in 2018, according to a report from Axios. The amount is larger than the GDPs of such countries as Brazil, the U.K., Mexico, Spain, and Canada.

...
While spending is highest, the United States ranks 27th in the world for its levels of health care.

...............

Last I checked, $30T politial think tank estimates as opposed to a $3.65T bill
Perhaps Senators Sanders ,Warren and Green New Deal advocates are on to something the secret handshakers overlooked.
Go ahead and try it, there is link after link after link that pretty much say the same thing

You do understand the majority of the increases in cost are the government funded programs right?

Private health insurance costs dont' even come close to the cost increases.

What should that tell you?

you know thethe and sturg, had you simply responded with a number I more than likely would have taken your word and moved on.
Because I wouldn't be surprised Sen Sanders program would cost more off the ground and would for a year or two
Instead you left the impression you haven't the foggiest notion of what you are talking about.

I mean, there was "data" sturg and "math"

You do not know how to analyze anything.

Can you understand the fact that 'Medical Costs' are a large bucket of costs that can be stratified into smaller subsections?

so ?
health care costs are health care costs--- or maybe we should only measure white middle class males . Wearing MAGA hats

No - How about the costs of the middle class that actually work?

I will just continue to ask you to keep this position as a party. Tell people that they are going to be forced off their private insurance plans for a worse government plan. For that privilege they will also pay much more per year. Please please please continue to make this a position of the left.

PREMIUMS: GONE
CO-PAYMENTS: GONE
DEDUCTIBLES: GONE
ALL OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES: GONE

Bernie says it: "The overwhelming majority of people will save money, but it is appropriate to acknowledge that taxes will go up: Taxes will go up significantly for the wealthy"

excuse me, I left out a decimal place. Koch funded think tank estimates were $30T not $3T.
We still haven't seen where that estimate comes from and who funded it

Costs is a negotiable concept when it comes to medical care

Math is math. There are three options (this is where you call me paranoid for critical thinking)

1. Doctors need to get paid less to do the same services. This seems far fetched. So likely less people go into medical field. Which reduces quality of physicians

2.pharma companies take less for their life saving drugs. This reduces the incentive for companies to invest in risky life saving drugs. Thus' reducing quality of care

3. Hospitals close because they cant stay in business. This reduces available medical care. Increasing wait times or costs, or reducing care quality to work through the waitlist.

I know I know... paranoid

Speaking of paranoid... did you see where Beto said that law enforcement would need to take appropriate action against people who wouldnt comply with his gun confiscation?

I know I know... paranoid

oh -- socialism.

Medicare rates with supplemental insurance to use the proper verbiage.
I enrolled last fall.
In the past year our family has had surgeries and routine visits. To Primary Care and Specialists. Sans Medicare we would not have had the care required

So I know first hand what Medicare (for better or worse) , prescription drug plans and supplemental insurance covers.
All too well. Crash course if you will

And how are you defining efficiently?
I would argue, with experience, if the insurance industry is metric by which we measure health care efficiency, I have a beach to sell you
4-5 years back We lost a family member to cancer /cancer treatment repercussions. The insurance industry washed their hands of it and left him twisting in the wind

Not sure how efficiency and health care square one another

1) that is not necessarily true and rather short sighted

2) please look up the costs of insulin and epipens .
How Much Does an EpiPen Cost? One brand name EpiPen or EpiPen Jr. package (which contains 2 auto-injectors) will cost roughly $650-$700 if you are paying cash, although pharmacy coupons or manufacturers discounts may lower the price.Aug 20, 2018
I personally don't see health care as an investment opportunity and dont think well of those that do

3) Please see Canada
