Lax residency requirements are a problem. I grew up in a district where the representative essentially rented a closet and declared it his primary address. He actually lived in a mansion in Atlanta. A lack of residency in your district inevitably leads to less connection with your district. The guy who was my representative had zero clue what was actually happening in his district.
