2022 Trade Deadline

Gallo is a decent option and is a potential rebound candidate. Current BABIP is about 40 points below his career average. What's concerning is his EV being a career low 88.0, and follows a 3 year downward trend from 2019 when is was at 95+. At the same time, the acquisition cost should be minimal as a rental, he plays terrific defense, and he walks 15% of the time. Perhaps Seitzer can work his Jose Bautista magic on him.

Not my favorite target, but I wouldn't hate it assuming the cost was low.

With Reynolds losing more control and his or
production falling off pretty dramatically from a year ago, I would imagine he and Strider likely have similar FV at this point. And that is only because Strider is a rookie. If Strider continues to pitch like this over the next year, he would be one of the most valuable players in the league.

So that would not only be a massive overpay by us, but it would potentially be historically bad.

2021 may have been a blip for Reynolds. He's a solid player and he's likely going to be alright with the bat. The question on him is whether he's a true CF (metrics are mixed) and if he has to move to a COF, will his bat carry there?

Saw someone mention Taylor Ward. Interesting career. Was surprisingly drafted in the first round in 2015 as a catcher with good defensive cred and a questionable bat. Now he's a bat-first OF with questionable defensive skills.

What about Charlie Blackmon?

Would be owed $6 million for the final two months. There is an option for next year not sure what the buyout is. Unfortunately he is terrible in the OF and should be DH. The Rockies also never seen inclined to trade away players at the deadline.

No on Blackmon.

Peralta is my choice. Should be relatively cheap. Decent glove. Good bat.

The D-Backs never seem to move anyone though, so I fully expect him to stay in AZ through the rest of the season.

Doubt we see a lefty hitter even if Rosario sucks. With Duvall out we really need a righty

They just need a good hitter who isn't useless vs RHP in the event Rosario can't even serve as a platoon option.

While that guy is probably going to be a RHH, he can't be someone so awful vs RHP that Snit is forced to play an equally awful Rosario...or Mike Ford.

Someone like Drury or Merrifield still fit the best I think. They can pitch in at 2B until Albies is ready, and then slide into whatever role is needed in LF. That role could be anything from platoon partner with Rosario to full time guy.

I'd like to see AA completely replace Rosario and start platooning Harris, but I doubt that's going to happen at this point in the season. Throwing cash at Conforto to see if he bounces back is tempting though.

Completely agree... I could just see them gambling on Rosario. Hope not...

Regarding Conforto, I haven't heard any updates in a long time. First it was out for the year and then it turned into maybe towards the end of the year. I still think he's quite a ways out so I don't see him as being a good option.

I know Blackmon is shaky on defense but he’s better than Ozuna. He can hit and would no doubt improve the lineup.
