2023 Misc Braves Talk

I assume there's a difference between throwing 95+ 100 times every 5 days and throwing one of those max-effort throws every other game from the OF.

How would he replace Williams when Williams isn't going to make the playoff roster. The bench is gonna be TDA Lopez Pillar Wall.

I meant Williams for the remainder of the season.. then I could see him make the playoff roster over Wall. His bat is more valuable than Wall's legs.

In a playoff series I'd much rather have Wall. There are very few scenarios where Adrianza would actually be used to pinch hit. Like multiple injuries in one game type deal.

Adrianza gives us a defensive back up at almost every position though. Would free up the opportunity to use Nicky Lopez as a PH if we absolutely needed to.

oof.. yeah, that is tough.. AA was a defensive backup like Carp said.. that was my thought.. but Wall's legs might be more valuable than AA defense.. tough call really.

Neither Adrianza nor Lopez have a bat, but at least Lopez has an elite glove; meanwhile Wall has truly elite speed, which has way more utility to a post-season roster. Adrianza just doesn’t really have value.

first bat off the bench is going to be whichever catcher isn't starting. Pillar/Eddie swap out late in the game if needed. With the DH there really isn't a need for any more bench bats.

Adrianza hasn’t had any kind of bat for a couple years now. Wall’s speed (and probably better bat) is certainly more valuable with Nicky around.

So thinking the rest of the year and common results.

If we go .500 we end the season with 104 wins, tying 93 for second best record.

If we go our average record for september we get 10 wins tying our 98 record for victories.

If we go our average for the year we would get 10 or 11 wins either tying or surpassing our record.

If we flip our September record, we still win 6 games which gives us 102 wins, tying for our 4th best record with the 1892 and 1898 Boston squads.

And with this division title we have more NL East division titles than the Phillies and Mets combined. They have been in the division since 1969 despite a 25 year head start.

Nick Anderson and McEWWW with their best efforts to lose the game for Gwinnett last night. 7 er between em
